Hi,
I found out 5 days ago that I'm pregnant with my first child. Today I'm starting wk4. Although planned, I'm feeling all sorts of emotions and at the moment, we're not telling so I've got nobody to talk to!

Is it 'normal' to be cramping so much? I've been in so much pain.

Where did these boobs come from?

It would be lovely to chat and feel less like a rabbit in headlights!

Awww congratulations! I remember being this many weeks and the same boat of not telling anyone. It’s quite a surreal time! I’m now 20+6! It goes quickly!

You’re lucky on the boobs front! Mine haven’t grown yet. Still in my same size bras but won’t be long before all that changes! I do remember cramping yes and I also remember it around the time my period would have been due. I was assured it’s all just your body going through changes. ❤️ Xx

I had so much cramping, exactly identical to period cramps and I even had them in my thighs as though I was on my period. I had ivf so I was symptom watching constantly, but it's all normal and can mean stretching - mine lasted until about 9 weeks and then only occasional cramps until 12 then eventually eased off ☺️

mumma2b2020 · 27/08/2019 08:39

Congratulations @mintbear! ❤️ Yes cramping is normal - more so around the time your period would be due. I had cramping in the early stages, nothing to worry about. We found out when I was 4 weeks..I'm 9 weeks today, it flies by! X

Thanks guys.
My cramping feels a lot more severe than period pains, it's literally bought me to tears and I've considered phoning 111 - I didn't expect it to be so full on.

As for boobs, they've been sore to touch and my nipples have gone like bullets.

A friend of mine is pregnant, she's ahead of me and hasn't really had any symptoms at all, but I suppose we're all very different.

It's nice to be able to talk to other people!
Everything you read is airing on the cautious side and I'm finding it difficult to get excited.

@melissa1215
I've not had cramping in my legs but it's comforting to hear that other people are experiencing cramps too.

Hi my intense cramping lasted from conception til 20 something weeks,all was fine with baby but it was terrifying.

mumma2b2020 · 27/08/2019 08:58

Yes my boobs are so sore too and nipples could poke someone out! Everyone's different, some may have more symptoms than others and some may not experience them at all x

BumblieBee · 27/08/2019 09:35

@mintbear congratulations! When are you due? If you look on the 'ante natal clubs' section there are groups for people due in each month so that people due around the same time can all chat and support each other. You might find that useful and supportive?

Sunshine8888 · 27/08/2019 09:55

@mintbear congratulations! I just got my bfp on two separates tests last night. I’m still in shock and don’t have a clue what to do now. I think I’m going to buy a digital just to triple check ! The main symptom for me isn’t my boobs, they are super sore 😬

Sunshine8888 · 27/08/2019 09:56

Is my boobs I mean *

mintbear · 27/08/2019 10:10

@PrincessHoneysuckle
20weeks! Good to hear it's all normal tho (although I wasn't expecting it this bad so early).

Thanks for tips on groups, I'll defo head over.

@Sunshine8888
Congrats too!
I did the same, my first test so so faint we though it was just ' where the line was meant to be' then the next day it was clearer. I then did a digital one (just to make sure).
Even thought it's what we were obviously aiming for, it was still a shock (hence the amount of tests I did) lol.
I've estimated my dd as 5.5, how about you?
I called the docs this morning who gave me the number for the midwife.
This is all so surreal.

Congratulations mint! I did a test on Sunday and was positive also so I'm about 4 weeks too! This is my second baby and the reason I tested was because of the cramps as I had them bad last time aswell. Its so unnerving isn't it? Im here if u need to chat seeing as we're at the same stage 😊

mintbear · 27/08/2019 10:29

@mollysmummy1970
Congrats to you too!
Yes, really quite frightening but I've been bought so much comfort from this feed.
How old is your first?

Is there anyway to private message on here?

@mintbear thanks! My lines were really quiet strong which I was surprised about! My cycles were all over the place after coming of the pill so I had no clue what was going on or how late my period is! So I’ve no idea how many weeks I am. Ok I’ll think I’ll triple check on a digital and then call the doctor if that’s also positive. I’m really feeling quite scared as don’t know what’s normal! I’ve been having lots of watery discharge and there was also a tiny bit of blood which has frightened me 😣

mintbear · 27/08/2019 11:05

I've just found a May 2020 group so I've joined that as well.

@Sunshine8888 I am a newbie to all of this but I've defo read about early bleeding and it can be quite normal. The ability to google can be a god send, but other times it just pushes us into worry, I would say if you're concerned call the doc, I've phoned them about my cramping (although I'm feeling more settled about it now after this feed) x

I think u can private message but maybe need to go into your browser as opposed to the app.

Im glad u are feeling a bit calmer about it, when it's such early days u can't help but worry. My wee boy is 5 so there will be a bit of a gap.

Congrats to u aswell sunshine!

Sunshine8888 · 27/08/2019 11:58

Thanks @mollysmummy1970 I don’t dare to believe it. I think I’ll feel happier seeing it on a digital!
