Amelia and Bruno please?

I have two weeks and a bit before I have my baby and am still lacking a name

I have a strong Italian surname thanks to dh.Both my dc names have Italian/German/French origins and I dont want this one to seem out of place with the other two.

Have been pondering over the following names;

Claudia
Alberta
Flora

Am not 100% on any though and could really use some help please.

Thanks

Liking Claudia.

Also liek Helena - can pronounce it Hel-AY-na, rather than HEL-en-a. I prefer it the first way, but you would have to put up with people saying it the second.

moljam · 06/08/2007 21:22

i love alberta,i know an alberta, bertie for short and think its lovely!and love flora.
also like eliza and sophia

halogen · 08/08/2007 20:47

I really love Claudia. If it hadn't been my best friend's name, it would have been near the top of my list! Also, how about Eleanora?

CristinaTheAstonishing · 08/08/2007 20:53

Claudia is nice.
I also like Graziella but DH is having none of that.

Rosetip · 08/08/2007 21:47

Love Claudia, and Claudie is such a sweet abbreviation.

How about Clarissa?

MarshaBrady · 08/08/2007 21:58

Oh I love the name Bruno so cute.
(ds' middle name)
And Amelia is so lovely.
Trying to think of something as nice to go with them... hmm
Why are all the names I know boy's ones... Udo Otto

ok think
Love the name Alberta.
will think some more

PestoMonster · 08/08/2007 22:41

Francesca is another nice Italian name.

BHANNAE · 09/08/2007 00:25

Well we have it narrowed down to Eleanora or Claudia at the moment and I'm really glad I posted as I would not have even thought of Eleanora if a few of you had not suggested it!
Alberta is still loved by me but nearly everyone in rl either looks horrified or spits coffee at me in shock when I mention it as a contender
Quite liking the idea of throwing Dulcie into the mix maybe as a mn?
Thanks again guys for the help x

How about Serena or Marianna?

pinkspottywellies · 09/08/2007 22:17

Nigella Lawson's children are called Bruno and Mimi (Cosima though). Sorry, was thinking about it after I saw your thread last night!

GreatGooglyMoogly · 09/08/2007 22:19

Milena?

3Ddonut · 09/08/2007 22:23

Claudia is lovely.

toadstool · 10/08/2007 17:53

Lovely names! I'm choosing in the same ball park (French-Italian-English family). In addition to those listed, I like Vita and Rossana. Quite fancy Alcina, but it's a bit literary/obscure..?

collision · 10/08/2007 18:05

Valentina is pretty.

an Italian girl I know is Livia (not Olivia)

DH's auntie is Cloud-ia rather than Claw-dia.

Ophelia is lovely too.

DS2 would have been Sophia.

Not keen on Flora myself.

Bibis · 10/08/2007 18:12

Gotta be Cosima - what a gorgeous name

jaynehater · 10/08/2007 18:15

Friend with Italian surname and background just called her dh 'Guiliana'.

Love Amelia, btw.
