Sick tastes like perfume

Hi, I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant with my first child, so I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I’m experiencing really bad morning sickness, struggling to keep things down etc. But what’s bothering me most is, no matter what I eat or drink, when I’m sick it tastes like perfume. It’s absolutely disgusting and makes me even more sick lol. It genuinely tastes like someone has sprayed perfume or deodorant in my mouth, and brushing my teeth straight after/using mouthwash still leaves me with a hint of the taste and it’s not nice. Anyone else had this problem, and any tips on how to get rid of it? I always dreaded being sick but now it’s even worse!

Nnever brush your teeth immediately after vomiting as it rubs the stomach acids into your teeth. Instead, wash your mouth out with lots of water and drink some water too, to get the taste and acid out of your throat. Leave it an hour after vomiting before you brush your teeth. Avoid mouthwash if you can (some contain alcohol).

Most pregnant women are much more sensitive to tastes and smells so although I can't explain why your vomit tastes of perfume, I'd just chalk it down to raging hormones and not worry about it.

Maybe it’s bile, I find my bile when I had MS was like getting perfume in my mouth.

My friend had this too when pregnant and she turned out to have gestational diabetes - not trying to scare you! She's all fine now!
