I'm 40 weeks pregnant being induced this week. But I feel to.ill to give birth l. Very tired and run down. I'm anemic which isn't helping. This morning I cant even face a cup of tea as feel so sick I just want to stay in bed and sleep.
Has any one else felt like this I refused to sweeps over the past 10 days because of feeling I'll but thought I'd feel better by now

I’ve never heard that the medical profession accept from a pregnant woman refusal of treatment because they feel too ill.
Ill or not, that baby has to come out.
Do you have lots of people around to help after the baby is here?
Sounds like you are going to need a lot of help and support.
Hopefully you will feel better (but utterly exhausted) after the baby is here.

Assuming there is a good medical reason to be induced I think you are going to have to suck it up and give it your best shot. Or request a planned section if you really are feeling to unwell to go through labour.

Sienna757 · 25/08/2019 10:45

@checkeredredshorts yes I'm a high risk due to sepsis a couple of months ago. :(

Have you had your urine tested recently? Just wondering if you could have an infection? Feeling poorly could be why you haven't gone into labour spontaneously yet. Its a lovely day, try to get out and get a bit of fresh air, drink and eat. Hope you feel better soon, and you soon have a little one to squish x

This is a ridiculous comment. They don't have to accept anything, she doesn't have to ask for permission not to be induced. She can say no to any treatment whatsoever for any reason or none.

I think you need to do two things. Talk to your consultant as soon as possible. And think carefully about the help you’re going to need once the baby’s here.if you have a partner ask him to get family and friends to rally round. Can you afford to buy in some help for a while?

RedCowboyBoots · 25/08/2019 10:54

Ill or not, that baby has to come out.

If it's that urgent they'll book a c section. Inductions can take days (and have a higher risk of complications, even when the mother doesn't feel rubbish to begin with).

Could you ask if a c section is a possibility, OP?

I've got lots of help I just physically feel I'll. I feel weak almost like how sepsis made me.feel.but with out the fast heart rate and temperature. I dont even have the energy to.sit it out in triage I'm stuck in bed

afternoontwee · 25/08/2019 11:14

Have you spoken to your doctor about the weakness? I have a pregnant friend who had sepsis a month ago so in same position as you and she was told to report any return of symptoms immediately.

BertrandRussell · 25/08/2019 11:15

It sounds as if you should be in hospital.....

Chivers53 · 25/08/2019 11:31

I think you need to talk to someone so they can give you the support you need, it might be that you need to be in hospital if you're feeling like this a few months after having sepsis. Please call your midwife or a doctor.

MmmBlowholes · 25/08/2019 11:53

You need checking over.

Bambamber · 25/08/2019 12:06

Have you spoken to anyone about how you're feeling? When did you last have your bloods done to check on your anaemia?

checkeredredshorts · 25/08/2019 12:24

In that case you could be feeling unwell due to your earlier illness.

I would phone and ask to be seen today for you and her baby to be checked over and discuss your concerns about the induction. They may be in agreement that a section might be more appropriate with how you're feeling.

Hope it all goes well.

Bigblueeyes26 · 25/08/2019 14:05

Thanks all I'm going to give the hospital a call and see what they say

RedCowboyBoots · 25/08/2019 14:09

Good luck, OP.
