Hi
I'm 6 weeks 2 days and for the past week or so I've had a constant ache in my left side and my back I know pains and aches are normal but this doesn't let up also my cervix is really low my youngest was premature too so I'm now petrified that something is going to go wrong I did phone the doctors but they said it was nothing to worry about but I can't help it
Sorry for the long post thank you if you got this far

Go back to the gp please. It's likely to be nothing, but you should probably be checked over.

It is more than likely just usual aches and pains of early pregnancy. Perhaps go back to the gp or call your midwife to talk about anxiety and find help early with treating it.

Can you afford a private scan? At 6 weeks might not show much but could offer a little reassurance? Don't think nhs likes to do much really do early as there prob isn't much to be done either way. Which is annoying. They should allow people an earlier scan.

Thank you for your replies our gp is not the best and I was told to leave it 10 days then phone back and I don't actually have a mw assigned yet I did look up scans but they're £70 and it's my eldest birthday tomorrow so I just can't afford it I just can't help thinking there's something wrong and the pains and low cervix just have me all panicked

Phone your doctor again say the left hand side pain is still there and ask to be seen. Has your hospital an early pregnancy unit? I had left sided pain last week at 5 weeks 5 days had it for 3 or so days doctor demanded to see me there and then felt my stomach and I was tender so he phoned straight up to maternity ward for me.
EPU wasn't opened so he gave me a letter and had me sent to a&e who had me sent to gyne to get scanned just to make sure it wasn't ectopic. Scanned showed pregnancy in right place but because they weren't trained in early pregnancy was given an appointment the next morning for the EPU where a senior doctor had be advised of my case and sent to scan me. Thank god everything turned out ok and being sent for another scan next week. If you don't feel right keep pushing to get checked or go to a&e. One sided pain needs to be investigated. May be nothing but could also be an ectopic
