Hi all! Am starting to buy the first few things for the little one, and the site I am buying from gives the sizes in cm not months.... so from 50cm onwards. Obviously have no idea what size baby will be, currently 32 weeks pregnant and he/she is weighing in the norm but I just thought I would ask some advice to what everyone else is getting/has gotten. Does it make sense to get a few sleepsuits etc in size 50 or is it better to start from size 56? Thanks for your help!!

Buy from somewhere else! Who can be bothered with that faff! Get a few in 0-3 months and a couple in 'newborn' and then go from there.

My daughter was born at 40 weeks and was 53cm. She was longer than average.

Agreed with poster above. I bought a couple of multipacks of both from Asda as you are bound to get loads of lovely clothes as presents! Even though my second was over a pound heavier than the newborn size she wore these for at least 6 weeks - they seem to come up massive. Good luck with everything 💕

Yes sorry, should say congrats Thanks As a FTM to a now 11 month old I had all the same concerns but honestly, Mothercare andJohn Lewis packs of basic vests and sleep suits in bog-standard sizing will be fine.

my baby was 48 cm - kinda average/small size

My daughter was 8lb 4oz at 42 weeks so not massive considering how overdue I was, however I didn’t get much use out of newborn, maybe 2-3 weeks. I’d recommend 0-3 size because I had so much lovely newborn stuff she didn’t even get to put on!

Ds was nearly 11lb when born and hospital measured him at 52cm

50cm is about a 6lb baby so id go 56cm then if u need smaller u can get when your baby is here.
Ive had small babies and my heaviest baby was 6lbs 5onz and was 51cm.

Thanks I think in that case I'll stick to the bigger sizes!!
