Did I feel the baby

I’m currently 14 weeks pregnant and haven’t felt any flutters or anything. I lay at an angle in bed today and placed my hand on my left side and felt like a hard ball that was very obvious . Would this be the baby by any chance
Thanks in advance

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Could it be your uterus starting to pop out of your pelvis? I'm 16 weeks and have noticed the same thing over the past few weeks.

@sheep90
I was thinking that also
It’s my first baby so I have no idea. Have you felt any flutterings yet

Yup that probably is :) mine felt like a tennis ball which suddenly appeared when I was lying on my back one day. It was very surreal :)

@Trees2905 is it normal to not feel it again as I haven’t felt it since

Hi @amyyy333

It's definitely too early to be feeling any movement on your first, though I also remember feeling a hard "lump" in the first half of the second trimester.

People feel flutters and movements at different times and it depends on a number of factors - your weight, placenta positioning etc. You tend to feel them earlier on second and third pregnancies apparently.

I'm currently 28 weeks on Baby #1 and with an anterior placenta, it was only after the 20 week scan I really felt any movement, and it didn't pick up until week 23-24. I now feel baby move all the time.

I think NHS guidelines are to raise concerns if you haven't felt anything by 24 weeks - but check this out! You can always have a chat with the midwife with any concerns. You should be due another appointment at 16 weeks and the midwife will usually try to locate the heartbeat with a doppler from that appointment. This reassuring when you still aren't feeling any movements as you can hear the kicks you cannot feel!

Hope this helps x
