Hello

First time mum who has never used a pram so literally have no idea what brands are 'good' or what I want the pram to do.

I think I want a travel system, but with a car seat that lies flat.

Does anybody have an amazing pram they can recommend or know of prams to avoid?

I am not bothered about the cost.

Thanks in advance!

The only lie flat car seat is the maxi-cosi jade. We found it very expensive by the time you added the base and pram so we've gone for something else. Maxi-cosi are compatible with several other bases, keep an eye out for compatibility.

There are a number of other lie flat car seats...

We went for the cybex cloud q, it's heavy but well made and then got the cybex balios s. Baby due in 3 weeks, so not used it yet. But we really like it and are looking forward to using it. It folds well and can be seen in Mothercare, a lot of prams are difficult to find in stores so getting a hands on feel for what you like can be tricky.

Apologies, I wanted a lie flat car seat and was told there was only one.

My needs for a travel system were
-Large carry cot that would last to 6 months
-Pram that folds with the toddler seat attached
-Large Basket
-Good wheels you can use on grass etc
-Large toddler seat so it would last till at least 2 years

  • Long warranty

We got the Bugaboo Fox which is an expensive pram but we have big baby's so need something that would last and also the buggy board clips straight on which we need for DD!

With DD we had iCandy Peach and sold it after 10 months so made sure we really researched and tried out lots of travel systems this time before committing.

A couple of cheaper options I would recommend are Mamas & Papas Ocarro (Great pram, very popular), Nuna Demi Grow, Joie DLX

This is the cheapest Lie flat carseat WITH base I could find Joie I-Level I-Size

I think Jane do a lie-flat car seat that attaches to one of their travel system chassis / buggy.

@smartcarnotsosmartdriver @GemmaJen

The car COT smart is referring to is the only carseat that lies flat WHILST you drive, all others have to be put back into position, they only lie flat out of the car.

Im a fan of bugaboo had the donkey ,this time ive got the cameleon, they are amazing to push & u can custom the colours u want, ive went grey & pink this time ,last one i had was black & beige. U can buy adaptors for car seats but im not a fan of babies in car seats on a pram id rather have my baby flat when out & about.
U should go into a store & try prams out they will let u push them show u how they work will help u pick the right one for u.

The kiddy evo luna lies flat in the car. It is very heavy though so not great for carrying around but can easily attach to a chassis of a pushchair. It is a large car seat which my 22 month is still using.
I went for the Egg pushchair as I liked how slimline it was and how easy it is to fit onto buses even in the smallest of spaces

There are so many to choose from!
May sound patronising but make sure it fits into your car with shopping etc ! I don't use my buggy very much but I was extremely limited because of this,
I ended up getting the Graco fast action fold travel system with a separate isofix!
I can tell you it's brilliant! I pushed my friends buggy the other day and I couldn't even steer the thing lol
The Graco one when I use it I always steer with one hand because I need to move my arm for my steps to count !
It is suitable from birth and u can attach the carseat to the buggy for ease

I got a 2nd hand icandy peach2. Then got a maxi Cosi car seat to fit (it's not flat laying though) I only use my carseat in the travel system when I pop out to the shops and then I use the bassinet for longer walks. Don't waste your money on an expensive travel system, they are in the bassinet for a matter of months and you'll be changing the car seat after a year unless you get a 1-2-3. You can pick up a decent 2nd hand travel system and get it professionally cleaned x
