Measuring above 95th centile on growth chart

I’ve just had my 28 week appointment at 29+3. Fundal height is 30cm which puts it above the 95th centile. I’m just wondering what this actually means in terms of baby’s size? With first baby he was always around the 50th, and I thought he was quite big for his gestation when he was born 6.5lb at 36 weeks.
Is this an indication of a large baby or is this not accurate? I Didn’t get a chance to ask the midwife and she wasn’t concerned but she was in a rush. She’s not my actual midwife who will be having the rest of the appointments with me either.

DS was the same at the same gestation, he was born a rather hefty 9lb1 at 39 weeks, I'm only 5'2! I'm currently 27 weeks and on the 50th so I'm hoping his sister will be smaller this time around, no wonder I waited 10 years to do it againGrin

My ds growth chart from 28 weeks gestation sat consistently above the 95th percentile and he was 8lb 5oz when born. Almost exactly the same weight as his dad was when he was born. Baby number 2 is tracking at about the same sort of size at the moment so I'm expecting another chunky baby :)

My 25, 28 and 31 week measurements were all completely off the scale. Midwife wasn't concerned at all as long as it was growing properly. Went for a scan at 32 weeks (unrelated) and baby's weight on the scan was bang on 50%. I was told it's mainly to monitor the pattern of growth and not the actual size as much.

I was above 95th percentile fundal height most of my pregnancy and then had a 50th percentile baby at just before 42 weeks so don’t think it means much about size of baby! It’s just about making sure baby is growing I think.
