Gestational diabetes test

I'm having to go to a second Glucose Test for gestational diabetes as they somehow managed to mess up the first one.

The second one won't be until I'm 30 weeks, and I'm stressing that if I do have it, this is quite late to find out. What are your thoughts and experiences of this?

I was 32 weeks when I found out as I didn't have risk factors for the screening. There were some concerns with DS growth after I found out. At first they said he was too big, because of the gestational diabetes, and then a few weeks later that he wasn't growing. I had a c section at 37 weeks and DS was fine.
