Hi, This is my 1st post on here... Please be kind lol.

So, I'm 10 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby.
With all my pregnancies I've had awful pregnancy sickness - my 1st stopped when I went into labour the 2nd after 9 weeks.

I'm used to feeling sick and dizzy but one thing I cannot deal with is how sick kitchens are making me!!!!

My kitchen is spotless, so it's not like it's a smelly kitchen . It's like I can smell the pipes and drains now!? My OH can't smell what I'm talking about and I've never smelt this before so I know it's because I'm pregnant.

I can barely go into the kitchen without gagging badly or actually vomitting.
I can't even have my kitchen door open while I'm in the house.

It's effecting my life SO much because... I need to make food!!!!! Which I keep going out and buying or ordering In.

I've tried drain cleaning again and again and it's made 0 difference.
I've covered the sink and filled it with lemons and CIF .. still nothing.

Has anyone else had this kind of sickness.
If i go to my close friends house I'm the same at hers with the kitchen.

Even if i wrap something around my mouth and nose I will gag so painfully.

Eugh.. sorry for the long post I just don't know what to do anymore!!!!
Any suggestions please please tell me.

Thank you

I also cannot stand the smell of my kitchen. I’m suffering with HG and sleeping in our spare room next to the kitchen overnight so I don’t disturb my daughter overnight. I DREAD my daughter opening the door in the morning and the kitchen smell coming in. It’s vile yet my kitchen is also spotless! Equally, I cannot cope with the smell of anything cooking, rain, the shower, the smell of my car, clean washing, even my daughters shampoo turns my stomach .. life is tough at the mo. I’m 10 weeks as well.

The only thing keeping me going is that the extreme sense of smell only lasted until the second trimester in my first pregnancy. It calmed right down around 15/16 weeks along with the sickness in general. So fingers crossed for both of us we find similar! You have my sympathies!

Could you put some Vick vaporub under your nose (or would that be even worse 😬)?

I have hyperemesis gravidarum and have had exactly the same problem. Although its not as bad now im 16 weeks. I cannot open the fridge or walk past the fruit bowl without gagging and the smell of the kitchen in general just makes me feel ill.

I thought it was just me on the kitchen front, I'm 8 +1 and gag every time i go in there even though it's spotless and dh makes sure it is every night bless him, knowing how I feel.

I have no tips really, some days I'm better than others but I hold my breath opening the fridge and avoid opening the dishwasher at all costs!

I didn’t have any sickness in the first trimester, but the smell of my kitchen was enough to make me gag on the best of days! We had just had it refitted last November and I got all tragic that I’d never be able to use it again!

By week 12, though, everything had calmed down and I love my kitchen again. I can’t even say what it was that bothered me so much about the smell, but I’m bloody delighted it's gone.

I am the same. I am suffering from HG and no medication seems to be helping. My kitchen makes me vomit every time I go in. I think my issue is it stinks of dust and plaster as we have just had a load of work done in there. My poor DH keeps trying to clean it but the smell just won’t go.
I am finding that I have to have a bottle of olbas oil with me at all times so that I can dab a bit of that on when smells become too strong. Seems to help a little.
