Hi mumnetters,
I'm new here and this is my first post, hoping that you may be able to give me some advise.
Starting from the beginning I had bad periods march-June bleeding 2-3 times a month, I've had tests coming back clear and will be having scans in December. I'm currently on the combined pill.
I had my last period on 19th June and since nothing until 3 weeks ago when I had brown discharge (when wiping sorry tmi).
Beginning of August I did a test dip stick which I think looked positive (see pic) and others that were negative. I saw gp 2 weeks ago to discuss and he said I can't be pg and it is stress related. Since then I have been doing tests and getting what I think is faint positives but getting negative on only digital tests. I go away on Friday so have booked another apt for when I return with different gp.
I'm panicking am I or aren't i? If I am i could be anything upto 9 weeks. Me and my dh already have ds (10) and dd (4) we weren't planning any more. I haven't mentioned anything to dh until I know for sure, my mum is aware and excited though.
Please any advise would be great and I've attached pictures if you can tell me what you see xx

I've never heard of a stress related BFP!

It looks to me live v faint positive but more like 4 weeks rather than 9. Is there no way you could have fallen pregnant more recently?

I would buy a Clearblue test with weeks indicator and do it first thing tomorrow morning.

user1471466078 · 21/08/2019 13:07

Thank you for replying scarlettt555. I thought the same. With ds I didn't have a pos til 10 weeks and dd before af.
The test strip was 3 weeks ago when I took the picture and the others have been this week. I'll try a clear blue one in the morning. Could the brown discharge have been implantation?

Also it's possible I could have conceived anytime in past 2 months.

Hi @user1471466078,

That looks like a BFP to me! Congratulations!

I remember when I thought I was pregnant and I spent hours sieving through these forums deciphering the difference between a positive and a negative. I had no symptoms whatsoever apart from a slightly fatter behind. My BFP was incredibly faint at first so, I didn't want to believe it. I'm not 34 weeks along!

I would say, take a first response and a digital test when you are ready as, they were the best ones I did for a definitive answer! (Everyone says wait a few days because, you will get a stronger result and they are right but, in reality, aint nobody waiting that long!)

Good luck :) xx

Thanks @frsttimemama congratulations on your first 🙂
I think I'm struggling to get my head around it and then how I'm going to tell my dh.
The only symptom I'm currently getting is sore nipples and some heartburn, plus not feeling hungry (if that is one lol).
I've just popped out and bought some more to try in the morning. Xx

The brown discharge may have been ovulation or implantation spotting which fits with you being newly pregnant. Congratulations!

Loopydizzylove · 21/08/2019 16:17

Well from my experience.... That is defo positive.... Congrats 😁!
And as for the combined pill... My oldest 2 were conceived while I was on it

MockingJay27 · 21/08/2019 16:31

They have got to be positive!! If there is HCG in your system there is only 1 reason for it.

user1471466078 · 21/08/2019 16:59

All I can say is eek! lol I'm excited, not sure what dh will make of it he's just been talking about having the snip. Have any of you had positives on these but not on a digital? I'm wondering if I'm just not far along enough for it to show on them? Xx

Looks like a BFP to me. Definitely possible to not have a positive on a digital yet, they're not as sensitive. It would mean that you were still early though, at 9 weeks you would get a positive on any test.

user1471466078 · 21/08/2019 17:36

Thank you @smartcarnotsosmartdriver I have no idea how far along I would be as my body has been all over the place since March with last af 19th June but brown spotting 3 weeks ago. So I'm thinking 4-5 weeks maybe? Xx

I think that seems about right @user1471466078 I had quite a clear positive on a FRER at 4 weeks exactly.

user1471466078 · 22/08/2019 12:56

Update - went to see a different gp this morning who made a referral for me to have bloods taken for hcg level. I've just come home after having that done. I could have results back as early as later today.

Good luck OP. There was a lady on here recently who kept having faint positives and low HCGs on bloods. She did loads of tests and people were horrible. Turns out she was very much pregnant and over the moon Smile

@user1471466078 Good luck! I have my fingers crossed for you xx
