Hi,
Anyone else seem to be getting higher readings when they do their first test of the day (before breakfast)? It's weird because in the afternoon and evening I was well within range (post EM 4.8). Only started monitoring yesterday morning and it's already showing this pattern. I'm paranoid about what I eat for breakfast now!

what are you ng for your evening meals? What time do you finish eating?

That used to affect my morning pre breakfast levels a lot. So if I ate later my pre-breakfast levels were always on the higher side.

I ended up trying to eat earlier and get a walk in after dinner. Would then snack on cheese and nuts if I felt hungry before bedtime.

That makes sense. I had dinner quite early and the reading was low after that. So I'm guessing the 3 biscuits at about 8.30 may have done it! Lesson learned.

It's to do with your liver. Google: liver dump or dawn phenomenon.

Try a small protein based snack or milk before bed. If you go to sleep on a completely empty stomach your body will convert glycogen to glucose in the night causing your bloods to be raised in the morning.
