I’m approaching 24 weeks and for the last few days have felt like my food is just sitting in my stomach and not digesting. I’ve had like a lumpy sick feeling in throat and I’m so fed up of it and don’t want to eat. Well..I am eating but not enjoying food, I’m also constipated at the moment.
I’ve noticed baby is starting to kick higher up so maybe organs are starting to shift?
Anyone feel the same? X

I'm only 9 weeks but I've had that on and off so far. Really uncomfortable, unpleasant feeling Sad potatoes seemed to make it worse

@DerbyshireGirly- thanks for replying and sorry your feeling the same. I just don’t know what to eat? I’m getting my hubby to make some soup today for lunch as I usually have bread of some form.
I have porridge for breakfast and don’t know if that’s making it worse. On the joys of growing a bubba 😂

@kate3150 2 weeks ahead of you here and yes, I am similar. Having to eat small and often and it's still not going away - it's indigestion. I've been taking ranitidine (150mg - I already use it) and that's helping. You can get 75mg not over the counter but 150mg is prescription only. It's deemed safe in pregnancy.

I am also quite constipated (have been for about 2 months) and sometimes go several days without a bowel movement. I've been on the verge of going to see the GP to get lactulose but it seems that threatening that gets it moving 🙄. The only thing I can suggest is keep eating fibrous foods and drinking lots of water (I'm actually feeling more thirsty now than I was a couple of months ago when I really struggled to drink enough).

@Weathergirl1- thanks for replying and sorry you’ve been feeling the same!
I know this sounds pathetic but I LOVE my food and not enjoying it anymore it’s just making me a bit down lol- gosh that sounds silly!!
I suppose because there’s so many things we can’t do in pregnancy, food is like the one treat and even thats not working out for me 😂
I did wonder about indigestion- I’ve never had it before so wondered if that’s what it could be.
Do you know what you’re having? Exciting times apart from our body being out of whack lol xx

It’s indigestion. Mine is only relieved when I have a bowel movement at least twice a day, so will use fybogel if I can’t.

Hi ladies,

Sympathising with the constipation! I'm 27 weeks with Baby #1 and the last few weeks bowel movements have been every few days.

I drink between 3-4 litres of water on average a day, eat plenty of fruit, whole grains and vegetables etc. but nothing seems to help in between.

I am fortunately still enjoying food (I love my food) but definitely feeling the slow down of the digestive system!

Last couple of weeks I have felt the baby under my ribs whilst sat at my desk in work. Can only imagine there must be a millions things taking place and changing at the minute - as a first timer, it's all very new to me!

DerbyshireGirly · 21/08/2019 13:05

@Kate3150 Have you tried fruit? I find anything starchy just seems to back up.

Weathergirl1 · 21/08/2019 13:23

@kate3150 I think I'm still more apprehensive than excited here - I don't think I will fully believe it until the baby is safely here! That may just be my mind protecting me from a worse case scenario, I don't know. I'm doing ok with logistics and planning but I don't really feel that attached to the thing that's making me feel a bit rubbish iyswim?! 🤷 I do know what you mean though about not enjoying food... I'm a bit picky with food at the best of times and this is just making everything harder. I am lucky to have a DH who is running around looking after me though and not minding in the slightest.

@KJ1988 I weigh myself daily (a habit I've done for years as play sport competitively) and it is rather amusing to see my weigh go up and down by as much as 1kg from one day to the next depending on whether I've managed to go to the loo or not 🤣🤣

KJ1988 · 21/08/2019 14:17

@Weathergirl1 It's a huge difference!
I weigh once a week at the same time, as I've always done and use this to monitor my pregnancy weight gain - it's so frustrating! I weighed a day early this week, just because I'm sure I'll be heavier tomorrow - haha!
I may start doing this every week to track the difference one day to the next! x

Weathergirl1 · 21/08/2019 14:33

@KJ1988 that's why I've never been a fan of weekly weigh ins as I know how much bowel contents can affect it! I know the general advice is don't weigh yourself every day because you might get obsessed with it, but I've never found that to be an issue personally! 🤓

KJ1988 · 22/08/2019 09:23

@Weathergirl1 You are definitely on to something!

2lbs heavier this morning than yesterday... and I did not binge! One chocolate bar does not weigh that much - haha. I will not be counting today's weight. x
