I'm now 20 weeks I've had a sore throat and cough since Sunday with every cough I am emptying my bladder completely I go through a pad the lot, it's embarrassing and even if I just weed it happens still. From the cough I'm now vomiting and numerous times now have vomitied small amounts of blood which is grim.
I feel so rough it's unbelievable I'm 25 and this is my third pregnancy I've barely got any energy at all and I'm just becoming so anxious and stressed out now I don't know how to help myself at all.

Have you seen a doctor?

Flower777 · 20/08/2019 21:52

I think you should contact your doctor or midwife for advice ASAP.

I haven't just assumes it's normal as everyone I've spoken to has said oh it's normal after two children... surely it's not I'm only 20 weeks for Christ sake I have been in pain with my back also and cramps, my breasts are leaking milk I feel all over the place to be honest. And whenever I have called the hospital with concerns they've just told me to go A&E as nothing can be done before 24 weeks, which I know but I'd be happy with a check over Confused

If you're vomiting blood, call out of hours or NHS 111 for advice and consider going to the nearest urgent care centre.

sodrained · 20/08/2019 21:59

@CmdrCressidaDuck it's stopped now thank god I haven't been sick since this afternoon and I've kept food down I think it's the force I'm sick with, where my throat is so scratched already I don't know.

can slightly damage the esophagus from vomitting, which this sounds like. I hope it all continues to improve. Please keep trying to get fluids down & stay in contact with your midwife centre.

You're pregnant, you've vomited blood and you're not seeing a medic? Unbelievable Confused

sodrained · 20/08/2019 22:04

@lawnmowingsucks Unbelievable what? What exactly can be done? When I had it with my last pregnancy I was told it's normal if my throat has been strained what would you like me to do? Take out my throat and ask for a new one? Confused

When the op says she is vomiting blood, I assume she means vomit streaked with blood as can happen with a burst blood vessel from lots of coughing or vomiting. That's probably why she's not rushing to seek medical attention.

Op do you do any pelvic floor exercises? And have you spoken to a pharmacist to see if there's anything you take to help ease your cough?

Are you sure your wetting yourself with every cough ?

I only ask because my waters broke early and when I coughed or sneezed or strained myself I would get a ‘gush’

Sounds like you need a doctor ASAP though and especially being pregnant and coughing up blood - I wouldn’t wait
