Hello ladies
Had a growth scan on Friday 35+3 and they are telling us the baby has dropped below the 10th centile and only weighs 4lbs 7 and that his legs are small... has anyone experienced this? Got another scan this Friday. So worried

Xxxx

hi op im 37+ 2 i've got low papp a and have been having growth scan from 28 weeks every 4 weeks baby keeps dropping in percentile by 30 so due another scan on thursday which will be two weeks from the last one, my baby was on the 10 percentile with ickle legs too but apart from growth looks healthy and normal what they have said is if baby has dropped again then i will be having her earlier ( im due a csection at 39+3) so i imagine they will rescan you in two weeks and maybe induce if growth hasn't picked up just incase babies better off out than in i also have doppler scans to check placental blood flow so maybe ask for a doppler scan too however some babies are just little my mum has had 6 kids and we were all 5 pounds and under at term i know how worrying it can be though hope you are ok and your little one too x

Thanks for sharing your story! Xx they have already mentioned inducing me if he doesn't grow much more in the next few weeks. I have an appointment for the Doppler this Friday too. They did test that last week and we're happy with it. Was your Doppler tests okay? Xx

I had growth scans practically every two weeks from 28 weeks on. Was told baby’s femurs were measuring small at each scan and that baby overall was small. At the 38+3 week scan they said baby had gone off the percentile and they wanted to induce baby was estimated 6lbs 3 on that scan. So I was induced three weeks ago at 39+2 and baby is perfect she was 6lbs 9 and her legs don’t seem that short at all! The constant scans worried me but I should have realised I’m small myself so was never going to have a big baby! Try not to worry I was in your exact position and all turned out ok Smile

Hi. I had a scan at 29 weeks that showed DS looking small (can't remember what centile) so we had a scan a week later to look at the blood flow. That scan showed the blood flow through the brain was going faster than through the placenta so I was given steroids to get DSs lungs more developed so they could get him out if needed. Three days later (how long it takes for steroids to kick in apparently) blood flow was fine - it can be fast if the baby is very active before the scan. He was born pretty big at 38 weeks so it's likely the 1st and 2nd scans were false alarms. So scans aren't always very accurate. Good luck! By 35 weeks the risks that come with premature births are really low.

I had growth scans from 25 weeks every 2 weeks and got induced at 37 weeks. She was 5lb 3oz and perfect in every way. She's 6 weeks old and 6lb 11oz now and only on the 2nd centile but other than that there's no probs!
