Saw the consultant today and have my section in place! It’s changed since my last. It’s now week commencing rather than an actual date but I’m pleased I’ve got a rough idea!

I’m also being sterilised as well! Xx

@Starlight84 congrats ! I hope you don't mind me asking, but is it an elective c section ? As in, you've chosen to have one ?

Starlight84 · 19/08/2019 21:34

@Framlingham2 yes. I’ve had 2 previous sections so opting to have another. X

I've had two c sections and was sterilised during the second.
Both very easy to recover from and very relaxed during the procedures.

Starlight84 · 19/08/2019 21:38

Yes my second was completely different experience from the first which was emergency. Third should be a doddle right 😂😂

@Strongecoffeeismydrug does the sterilisation add much more time or is it quite a quick procedure? I forgot to ask x

I've just become pregnant for third time and hope to have 3rd csection with sterilisation. If you are sterilised at same time is it done under local?

kelly14 · 19/08/2019 22:50

I’ll be having my 3rd section mid October and still unsure whether to get sterilised.
Husband definitely doesn’t want anymore and it’s not that I want more as will have a 14 year old, 18 month old and newborn so don’t think I genuinely want more but knowing I got baby blues last time, Just thinking about the scenario of being post c section and knowing I’ve got sterilised and it’s final I can’t have anymore makes me think I will regret it and get really upset. Even though I’m sure I don’t want me I still feel like it’s too final.

Starlight84 · 19/08/2019 22:54

just done once baby is born before they stitch you up I think?

Consultant said sterilisation can’t be reversed on the Nhs insinuating it could be if you paid private?! But I am a single mum to this baby so I definitely know no more! I couldn’t put my body through anymore sections either! Three is enough for me! Xx

Took about 15 minutes extra to be sterilised than an average c section.

Starlight84 · 22/08/2019 16:57

@Strongecoffeeismydrug that’s not too bad at all. Thank you for letting me know xx
