Saw the consultant today and have my section in place! It’s changed since my last. It’s now week commencing rather than an actual date but I’m pleased I’ve got a rough idea!

I’m also being sterilised as well! Xx

@Starlight84 congrats ! I hope you don't mind me asking, but is it an elective c section ? As in, you've chosen to have one ?

I've had two c sections and was sterilised during the second.
Both very easy to recover from and very relaxed during the procedures.

Yes my second was completely different experience from the first which was emergency. Third should be a doddle right 😂😂

@Strongecoffeeismydrug does the sterilisation add much more time or is it quite a quick procedure? I forgot to ask x

I've just become pregnant for third time and hope to have 3rd csection with sterilisation. If you are sterilised at same time is it done under local?

I’ll be having my 3rd section mid October and still unsure whether to get sterilised.
Husband definitely doesn’t want anymore and it’s not that I want more as will have a 14 year old, 18 month old and newborn so don’t think I genuinely want more but knowing I got baby blues last time, Just thinking about the scenario of being post c section and knowing I’ve got sterilised and it’s final I can’t have anymore makes me think I will regret it and get really upset. Even though I’m sure I don’t want me I still feel like it’s too final.

just done once baby is born before they stitch you up I think?

Consultant said sterilisation can’t be reversed on the Nhs insinuating it could be if you paid private?! But I am a single mum to this baby so I definitely know no more! I couldn’t put my body through anymore sections either! Three is enough for me! Xx

Took about 15 minutes extra to be sterilised than an average c section.
