REALLY sore bellybutton!

I'm 37 weeks and the last couple of days my belly button has been so sore... all of the time it is sore and tender, feels really bruised, then i get frequent sharp shooting pains in it.

It's not yet popped but I guess it will soon.

I feel like baby is physically pushing it out. In fact, when I press my belly button I can actually feel pressure from the other side. It hurts a lot.

No one talks about this... only about how painful birth and then breastfeeding is! Which daunts me, as I consider myself to have a decent pain threshold but this is really really uncomfortable, to the point of me wincing :( :( :(

My sister’s labour pains started in the belly button like that. If this is new then definitely speak to your mw!

@Teddybear45 it is new! I've also had lower back pains, but they come and go.

I dont feel close to labour though, baby is head down but still really high up, and other than the agonising pain in my belly button, I feel fine..

No show or waters or anything yet.

Ok I have text my midwife to see what she thinks as it’s gotten worse. Just got in from a dog walk and honestly felt like I had to hold my tummy the whole walk round. It’s killing me!! I can’t find anything about this online

I had this pain due to my expanding stomach, it felt like my belly button was going to explode and so sore with even the slightest touch off it
