FTM, outline of my dates below

Last period started 4th June (cycle can be anywhere between 28-33)
Tested positive on 1st July on FRER (thought I'd be 3w+6 from working back dates)
Had private scan on 8th August, thought I was 9w+2 according to date of last period, but I must have ovulated late and I was only measured at 8w+4.

This means my first positive test happened when I was only 3w+1, does anyone else think that is super early to positive test? I was the day before my periods was due, but it seems so bizarre! I know everyone is different. I only tested the day before my period as for the whole week previous I was ill, felt so different, and I genuinely kept saying to my OH 'I think I'm pregnant...' - it was very strange feeling like I knew, but there's no chance it could have been symptoms that early?

Anyways, just wondering when you all got your first positive test? Just out of interest.

I had incredibly irregular periods (as in less than 6 a year, sometimes 5 months without one) because of PCOS. I came off the pill in August 2017, assumed I was infertile and wouldn't conceive without medical treatment so didn't use any contraception, and my periods as wonky as always for 18 months.

I had a period that started on new years eve 2018 and nothing after that, which was not at all unusual for me. In April 2019 I started feeling very tired and had slightly sore nipples but no different to usual PMT symptoms. I took the fourth pregnancy test I had ever taken in my life, including two teenage pregnancy scares, and that was positive.

Baby is currently kicking away in my belly and I am due in December this year. I know my dates now and I must have ovulated 3 weeks before I did the test. I really, truly don't know how or why I knew to test then - pregnancy was completely unexpected, though very very welcome!

Waking this up.. anyone else felt this?

Didn't know I was pregnant, tested 6 days late. But was adamant that it was a boy and I was right Smile

When TTC I had lots of "symptoms", but when I was actually pregnant I was on the verge of fainting at 3 weeks so my HCG must've been high - if high enough you can test positive early. In my case though, didn't test until 5 weeks. I had some very trippy emotional dreams, woke up and just knew, ordered tests and they came the next day.

@Jackreacherismyhero
I know this is from last yr but on my 2nd as soon as we finished I literally said to him u just got me pregnant and from that night I felt different I took a test about 6 days before my period was due and got a faint line i just knew I was

i knew with both of my pregnancies but had taken clomid with both. The first one (15 years ago) I just knew I was. We were walking our dogs 3 or 4 days before I was due to test and told my husband that I was sure I was pregnant. Went to the pharmacy on the way home, took it and it and 2 were negative but I still knew I was pregnant.

We then went to Costco to get a TV (it was really heavy compared to now), whilst there I bought a three pack of the new LCD ones. Husband was downstairs putting the TV together whilst I did the test, positive. Husband called me down to help with the TV and I had to lift this massive TV which he was all focused on. I kept saying "I'm pregnant, you know" and he kept telling me I wasn't - in the end the test proved I was.

2nd pregnancy 4 years later I just took the Clomid that I had left and knew I was pregnant but didn't take a test or tell anyone for a few weeks, I was just happy knowing something that no one else knew (and I wasn't keeping a secret because it wasn't confirmed).

Having tried to have babies for years and knowing that I wasn't pregnant maybe i was really attuned to the difference with my body? Who knows but I definitely knew both times

I knew very early on and tested positive at 9dpo. Also, the early measurements at the scan aren’t an exact science as I believe it’s just an average measurement of the embryo that suggests when you may have conceived. Mine was off a bit but I knew exactly when I conceived.

Poppyismyfavourite · 01/09/2020 10:35

nope, I had no idea...
to be fair, it'd been about 10 years since I had regular periods (had been on various contraceptives, and only stopped the pill a month or so before ttc), so I had no idea what normal hormone cycles felt like, and attributed the sore boobs etc to PMS!

Shinea · 01/09/2020 13:16

@Jackreacherismyhero yes I knew since conception!! Maybe we are just too sensitive to hormonal changes and nausea had begun very early like 6 dpo for me and I got my bfp on 10 dpo.
I am 5 weeks pregnant now 🙂

I knew pretty much straight away with both kids and tested positive at about 4/5 weeks on both x
