Morning all. First time pregnancy and guessing we are about 6+6 today. Got midwife on Wednesday for first visit. Will I be given a dating scan as keep reading about this...... Sorry I'm clueless as never actually thought I'd be pregnant :) all advice appreciated or what to expect on first midwife appointment

Congrats! You'll have a scan arranged for around 12 weeks from the start of your last period and they will be able to date your pregnancy more accurately then as well as perform additional checks and tests. It would be worth checking out how the process works in your area by asking your GP receptionist or midwife or googling your local trust/hospital. My midwife referred me on for my scan but I know different areas work differently.

Lots of talking and asking questions. Weight recorded, BP, CO levels, height. If I remember correctly, they took my blood as well. Think about 2 vials.

Thank you both :)

The appointment was about an hour as well, just as a heads up. Like I said, lots of talking!
