Screened Positive for PET/IUGR

Hello,

I would just like to ask some advice for anyone who has been through similar.
I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and at a midwife appointment the other day, fundal height was measuring 27 weeks.

Not too much to worry about I know, as this measurement can be unreliable.
However, my son was born at 33+4 weeks due to intermittent absent end diastolic flow, I was told that he wasn’t growing as he should, but at 33+4 he weighed 4lbs.

Because of the history and the fundal measurement I was sent for a growth scan on Friday just gone, in which the sonographer said this baby is within their range but on the small side, estimated weight of 3lbs.

Also on the report it said I have screened positive for PET/IUGR.
I have to go back for another scan at 32 weeks.
Has this happened to anyone else before? And what does the screening positive mean exactly?
Many thanks Smile

IUGR is simply intrauterine growth restriction.

PET to me is Pre-Eclampsia Toxaemia, usually characterised by persistently high blood pressure.

If your MW or consultant is happy to see you at 32w, I would gauge that as a good sign. That you aren’t necessarily high risk, just that they want to check you over next time they see you.

I haven’t been through it myself, I can’t help in that respect I’m afraid, but I would take reassurance from a lack of immediate intervention or anything. That said, you should book in with the MW ASAP if you don’t understand what’s going on.

Thanks, I know what IUGR is as it was the reason my son was born early.

Thank you for your reply, I will just wait and see what happens.
