37 weeks pregnant, pink/red stained knickers, bloody show?

TMI PHOTO
I'm 37 weeks pregnant today and have done a lot more walking than usual, about 2 hours ago I went to the toilet to see a pink/red stain (see picture). I called triage and they said it sounded like bloody show and it was normal but everywhere says that a bloody show will contain mucus. Does this look like a bloody show? And if so, is labour likely to be imminent?

You need to go to the hospital. Turn up. Don't phone them.

Mine were like a blob of jelly. But I would pop a pad on for an hour see if anything else happens.
Is baby moving as normal and stuff.
I wouldn't be too worried looks like a bit of discharge to me but like a pp said if you're worried nip and get it checked out.
Good luck :)

How are you feeling?

Izzy24 · 18/08/2019 08:18

Looks like your waters may have gone-this can be a gentle seep rather than a gush.

I’m sure you’ve already been to the hospital to be checked out and hope all is well.

I had no blob, just what looked like the start of a period. I went into labour 24 hrs later.

All hospitals are so different! If defo go and get checked out to be on the safe side. Same as PP said just turn up. They'll always try and tell you Ofer the phone what it could be but they haven't seen your knickers! When my waters went I had blood in the waters and they were concerned then. Turnt our to be fine but they will still cautious

Sorry for the spelling mistakes

doodlejump1980 · 18/08/2019 11:59

@Molsc how are you today? Did you get checked out?

Troels · 18/08/2019 12:05

My waters went at 37 weeks, it was so slow I hadn't noticed, the bloody show was a blob with one and just like your picture in the other (both 37 weekers) Hope alls well. (37 weeks is considered full term.)

pooopypants · 18/08/2019 12:16

That looks like straight up fresh blood, I don't see any mucus. I'd be turning up at the hospital and insisting on being looked at

Is baby moving as usual? Any other symptoms?

Molsc · 18/08/2019 16:39

I ended up going to the hospital at 10pm last night, they monitored babys movement and heartbeat which was fine and they did a swab. She said I had something in my urine that could've been the start of a UTI so that's been sent off, and she said she could see pink and white discharge so has sent the swabs off too.

She said it's either the start of thrush or a UTI, but most likely a show. However, she said my cervix was closed, long and posterior? So can you get a bloody show with a closed cervix?!

I had some pains last night that I really thought were contractions but not had anything since!

Has your blood pressure gone up? Even if it isn't classed as high? Protein in urine?

Pains in the stomach can be due to preeclampsia. Bleeding could be from a slight tear in the placenta.

Of course the hospital know best. But it is good to be aware of other causes. There are occasions where they get it wrong.
