Had an early scan when I should have been 7 weeks. It showed a gestation sac and yolk sac but no fetal pole. She said it looked about right for 5 weeks.

I was convinced there was going to be a problem (history of miscarriages around 5 weeks) and just accepted that at my next scan, they would tell me there had been no development and baby had stopped growing at 5 weeks like all the other times I've miscarried (this is the first to not happen naturally though).

However, I went yesterday and they can now see a fetal pole. It only measured 2mm though.

I'm so confused now, I don't know what is going on and they can't tell me anything until another scan in a week.

I was so convinced of my dates I didn't know how the first scan could possibly have been 5 weeks and be a viable pregnancy so assumed it wasn't. I've also had a look online and considering they thought I was 5 weeks two weeks ago, 2mm for a fetal pole is extremely small.

Has anyone had anything similar? I'm a bit of a mess, I'd got my head around accepting it was lost and now I don't know what to think.
