What’s the context?

WillaDaPeephole · 17/08/2019 14:12

Polymorphic eruption of pregnancy? (An itchy rash!)

Rachelover40 · 17/08/2019 14:42

Yup, WillaDaPeephole is spot on.

I googled and found this:

"Polymorphic eruption of pregnancy (PEP), first described as pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP), refers to a benign dermatosis that usually arises late in the third trimester of a first pregnancy."

Wierd I have nothing like that. Notes from 16 week appointment says PEP >24/40

It might be something to do with vaccinations or something.... my notes are in my car these days, so I can’t see what mine say.

Could it be FEP? I remember something about this....

devilishlygood · 17/08/2019 19:32

24/40 would be ‘after 24w’

Rubberyduck · 17/08/2019 19:46

It's definitely PEP. It's probably nothing I just don't remember it from dc1. Maybe they check again for PEP after 24 weeks

Maybe fundal height, something like palpation examination P????

devilishlygood · 17/08/2019 21:02

Did you have Pelvic Girdle Pain last time? Could it be that?

Rachelover40 · 18/08/2019 01:50

Polymorphic Eruption of Pregnancy (PEP) .

I googled PEP in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Pinkkahori · 18/08/2019 02:05

Definitely PEP? PET is pre-eclamptic toxaemia.

Rubberyduck · 18/08/2019 08:32

Yup definitely. It says "no sign of PEP. PEP >24/40" I think @ShivD is right as I am huge this time and as she lifted me off the table she said 'Is there a history of GD in your family' there isn't. I didn't think about it until now.

"No sign of PEP", means it has been excluded so you don't have to worry on that score. We're tested for all sorts when pregnant.

What you could do is ask at your next ante natal appointment, you'd then be reassured.

Alicealicewhothe · 19/08/2019 04:28

I was on a maternity ward today and walked past an area that had a sign saying PHP/PET station..
Googling PHP suggest something to do with high blood pressure.

Alicealicewhothe · 19/08/2019 04:29

So guessing it means your not showing signs which is good!

Alicealicewhothe · 19/08/2019 04:30

Just realised your question was PET. Teach me to be reading mumsnet at 4am!

Alicealicewhothe · 19/08/2019 04:30

Doh PEP even. Blush

OrangeSwoosh · 19/08/2019 04:51

Have you checked the abbreviations list in your notes?

PhoenixBuchanan · 19/08/2019 05:06

I'm a midwife and I've been puzzling over this for 5min but I think I've figured it out!

'Presentation, engagement, position'

Your fundal height is measured from 24 weeks on and these are the three characteristics that are checked each time once you're a little further along.

Rubberyduck · 19/08/2019 14:06

Ah OK thanks so probably nothing at all then! Thank you
