Hungover feeling

Hi, I'm 6+3 and really don't feel pregnant. My insides feel like I need a good cleanse and detox and I've completely lost my appetite, is this normal?

@kik2 This is how I'm feeling at 6 weeks, lost my appetite, feeling sick, like a constant hangover and not sure if I eat it'll make me feel better or worse!

kik2 · 16/08/2019 16:05

@elb1504 I 've managed to eat some lunch but really had to force it down! Just constantly worrying that something is going wrong! ☹️

I’m 7+6 and I have days where I feel hungover - nauseous and dry mouth. I’ve struggled through work a few times it’s hard feeling rough but not wanting to tell people. When I don’t feel hungover I just feel wiped out with tiredness. This will be my 3rd and I have a step son too so definitely will be the last for me ha

Do you think it's dehydration? I was constantly thirsty when I was pregnant and that sometimes gave me a hungover feeling. Remember, you've got a wee parasite taking all your vitamins, etc. 😉

Sounds normal to me!

Drink plenty and eat little and often. If you keep your blood sugar stable it can help to reduce the hungover feeling and any nausea.

Sorry to say it but welcome to pregnancy 😁

I felt like I was constantly in hungover mode until about week 16-17. 2nd trimester you're supposed to have a boost of energy (which comes along with an increased appetite too unfortunately) so you have that to look forward too!!

sophr72 · 16/08/2019 18:27

This is exactly how I'm feeling too at 6 weeks. I couldn't describe it but hangover is exactly how it is! I'm a teacher on 6 weeks so I'm able to nap. Dread to think how ill manage come September!

I’ve felt like I’ve had a hangover since 5 weeks. I’m now 16 weeks. Constantly nauseous, sick and generally feeling drained. It’s normal apparently!

gkeal3 · 16/08/2019 22:00

Every pregnancy I've had (4) I've felt like I have a constant hangover for the first 5-6 months! I feel for you as it's totally draining!
If I wasn't sick I was feeling it, the only way I could describe the constant feeling to my partner was it felt like a constant hangover...nothing gets rid of it and even sleep I'd wake up feeling sick or dream about feeling sick where it was just there.

It apparently is a sign of a good healthy thriving pregnancy which did bring me some comfort though. I'm now 31 weeks and have constant heartburn instead....oh the joys!

All the best with your pregnancy, it's worth it in the end xx

That's good to know @gkeal3! This is my second pregnancy but I had a mmc in April, but didn't really have many symptoms then.

I feel exactly the same, am 5+4 now, waking up early feeling nauseous and hungover. Drinking lots of water too. Had a much needed nap earlier too and already ready for bed!

Good to know those at a similar stage are experiencing the same.

tisonlymeagain · 17/08/2019 09:52

Hungover is how I described my feeling from 5 weeks onwards. It improved by 11 weeks and now at 16 weeks I feel mostly fine. It's a long haul but know it doesn't last forever!
