Dinner at friend’s house in early pregnancy

I’m 9 weeks pregnant so haven’t told many people yet. I’m going to a friend’s house for dinner tomorrow night and she has asked if there is anything I don’t eat.

I’m not quite sure what to say as I don’t want to say nothing and then be rude by not eating something she has prepared. I’ve not been drinking the last few times I have seen her so pretty sure she is on to me anyway. Should I just tell her?!

I would just tell her. You could also recruit her to help you keep it a secret from the other guests - perhaps she could serve you alcohol free beer/wine so they don't notice you're not drinking

How close are you? We were perfectly comfortable telling close friends at that stage. Alternatively, you could just chance it. There are only a limited number of things you cant eat so chances are you will be fine.

If she’s a close friend then personally I would tell her the truth.

There's not much you can't eat anyway, unless she's known for cooking up swordfish! Grin
You could chance it but if you're close then I'd just be upfront and tell her.

Thanks all. I think I will tell her. She is quite a foodie so I’ve no idea what she might come up with!
