How accurate are scans in comparison to LMP? I should've been 6 weeks on Monday but at scan they only measured me at 4-5weeks. I've had 2 previous losses so am so so worried and am not having follow up till Monday

I'm pretty sure I ovulated around the 11th July we dtd every day between 9th-13th

My 7 week scan and 8.5 week scan were both a week behind where I thought I should be. By my 12 week scan I had jumped ahead 9 days! As everything is so small at this stage, a tiny difference in measuring can make a big difference to the estimated date. I hope this helps and congratulations Smile

I had a scan at 7+3 by lmp but was measuring 6+1. At 9 weeks the measurements gained a day and by 12 weeks had gained another 4 days. Everything is very small at this stage so every mm really does count. I hope everything goes OK on Monday.

Tthe dating goes off you first day of your last period, NOT when you ovulated or DTD.

My 7 week scan showed a baby less than 6 weeks. Dates have stayed the same ever since and I must have just ovulated late.

Thanks all, I'm even more nervous now cause my boob soreness has just completely gone since this morning 😔

@thisyeargoodyear @Hall84@bobble53 anything similar with you guys re loss of symptoms?

I've struggled a lot with sickness and nausea, which is still going strong at 14 weeks. That said, symptoms have varied a lot from day to day especially early on. Some days it was too painful to wear a bra and other days it was much better. Some days I was very sick, others not at all. Is there anyone you can speak to at EPU to try and put your mind at rest until Monday?

thisyeargoodyear · 16/08/2019 16:55

My boob pain was always there, but some days were worse than others - I was constantly having to squeeze them to check though so they weren't always aching. However, nausea would come and go, some days it would be awful and then I would have a week without any.

At that stage, a bit out on dates isn't necessarily a problem.

I had my first scan at 7 weeks exactly (the date is definitely as mine is an IVF baby). On first measuring the nurse got 6 weeks and then got a slightly different angle and made 6+6. At that stage, she was only 0.88cm long, so a couple of mm out in the measuring can make a massive difference, so try not to worry.

As for symptoms, they do come and go so that is not something to panic over. A few ladies in the IVF group lost symptoms around 7 weeks, either permanently or temporarily. Other than tiredness I have skipped symptoms and I am 10+4 now, so it does happen.

Symptoms can come and go at any time. One day you’ll not feel pregnant and then the next you will. The worst thing is looking for loss of symptoms etc. I did all this but everything was fine and baby is perfectly healthy cooking away at 24 weeks. Good luck xx
