@MrsEG thanks lovely! All went well and I enjoyed supervising from a chair in the sunshine! 😊 don't feel bad about having an anxious day today - I have them occasionally and have a complete meltdown, but DH is awesome with me and knows how to deal with it!

@ELW85 oh wow, I bet that was amazing!

@Delilah7 Ethan just keeps on getting more adorable!

@Fivebyfive2 oh, a little boy! Congratulations!

@MrsEG sorry to hear about your anxious episode but I'd really congratulate yourself for being a pretty cool cucumber the whole way through so far. Totally normal to have a wobble and you've dealt with it like an absolute pro. If you do get around to swimming you might find that helps clear your mind a bit too.

@LokiCat 8/9 weeks is a great shout - should be starting to look like a very mini human by then. Mine was a blob at 8+4 but can't beat the sight of the heartbeat!

We're going out to dinner / few drinks with some friends and I have nothing to wear. Nothing fits and I look ridiculous in everything. Feeling a bit insecure about my stomach ATM as sent my mum a pic thinking it was starting to look like a bump, but she says it's too early (14+4) to be showing that high up and most likely just bloat. I'm sure she didn't mean it meanly but it's just made me so self conscious. Damn pregnancy hormones.

@MrsR16 @purplefig Thank you both. I’m actually quite proud of myself for it being my first ‘wobble’ too to be honest! I’ve half-watched a movie on Netflix and had some pasta and feel better already.

@purplefig Oh how cruel is your mum!! I’m sure it is a bump! This is my current situ at 12+6 as I was struggling to find something to wear for lunch - I sent this to DH with ‘I thought black was supposed to be slimming?!’ Slowly losing the steroid weight and bloat now too finally. I say wear whatever you like! Find something nice and comfy - you’re pregnant, people will expect you to be rounder in the middle!

@MrsEG I think you're doing amazingly well and I'm glad you're proud of yourself. Your afternoon sounds fab. Also, your bump is looking utterly glorious! You're right, it was pretty thoughtless of her. Just had a little cry (lol hormones hi again) and feeling a bit better. Thanks for your kind words x

@LindyMoe Sorry to hear the nausea is bad for you. Good news everything was fine at your scan and hopefully you'll start to feel better soon. Thanks

@purplefig I like to take any opportunity to bore someone other than DH with my nappy laundry research Grin Yes, I like the look of their wash routines and their reasoning about bio powder and detergent amounts make sense. Don't let your mum's comment get you down. 14 weeks is an awkward time, I remember posting here around that time feeling really down about my bump as I just felt chubby and yuk. Embrace your little bump though, it's not just bloat at this point and it will all start to look a bit more defined over the next few weeks.

@MrsEG Yes I imagine like all things babies there are dozens of conflicting opinions and everyone thinks they know best. I'd rather have a solid plan in place now though so I'm not drowning in dirty nappies in the first few weeks. Spooning a cloud sounds amazing and you'll definitely need it as those babies grow! Sorry to hear you've had an anxious day, google is definitely not always your friend.

@Delilah7 Time is flying by! He's so scrummy. So glad you're both getting some relief from the colic.

@LokiCat Your hamper sounds adorable! Haha the conflicting thoughts on symptoms, we've all been there ☺️ yes, I think cloth nappies are becoming much more mainstream and they'd definitely be worth looking into to see if they'd work for you. Plus they come in some gorgeous prints and are decidedly more pretty than disposables. Not that that influenced my decision 😏 great news they are on the ball with your referrals! A private scan would be lovely to break up the wait :)

@cupcakesandglitter The annoying thing is my actual boobs are exactly the same size, they now just have disproportionately large nips 😂

@Bettythecat well done you making it to the gym! I know what you mean about trying to pick out what advice to follow. The Clean Cloth Nappies users sometimes post pictures where they have stripped and sanitised second hand nappies they've bought and the gunk that they get out of them from poor wash routines 🤢 not to say everybody not following their routines will have yukky nappies but I decided after seeing that I'd rather over wash than under wash. Look, I'm still waffling about washing nappies!

@Fivebyfive2 Fabulous news about your lovely baby boy 🥰

Evening all!

Just back in from DH’s event, so playing catch up :)

@LokiCat - it’s actually been lovely just to get away with DH and pizza and a onesie has definitely been the cherry on the cake!

@cupcakesandglitter - thanks! It’s been a beautiful day here today, hasn’t it? We’ve been indoors for most of it as DH was playing an event at the NEC. I’ve loved every second though; hope you’re having a nice weekend?

@MrsEG firstly; gorgeous bump! And secondly, you’ve been an absolute rock for everyone and have been super rational throughout everything. You’re only human and are totally entitled (and due) a bit of a wobble! You’re doing great and I’m sure everything with the twins will keep going as well as the consultant has said 💕

@purplefig - how was your pie? You deserve it! Your bump is adorable; I’m so happy for you! And I promise I’ll look for that book when we’re home x

@TrashKitten10 True; the last time you want to trial and error anything is with a newborn on 2 hours sleep!! You’re ahead of me so you’ll have to report back once baby is here on the nappy front!

@ELW85 Thank you lovely, I feel better now. I think I may give my consultant a quick call on a Monday just to put it all to rest; I’m sure she’ll think I’m mad but I can put a lid on it then! Hope you’ve had a fab day!

@MrsEG sorry to hear you had an anxious morning. As others have said, you're only human and bound to have a few worrying moments here and there. It's great that you were able to chat to your DH about it, sometimes talking about it and letting it out can start to make you feel better. The fact that you were still able to go out and enjoy a lunch with your friends just goes to show how strong you are! Also, your bump is lovely! 😊

@purplefig oh definitely. I can't wait to see/hear the heartbeat. It'll make it feel so much more real to me and I'm sure will be such an exciting moment!
Your bump is so cute. I think mums have a way of saying things bluntly without realising how they sound. Wear what you like, embrace your bump - I'm sure you'll look gorgeous! Enjoy your night!

@TrashKitten10 I definitely had lots of fun picking things out for the hamper as everything was so cute.
Haha gorgeous prints always helps when making a decision! Have you got a lot sorted for your little ones arrival? I can't even begin to imagine what we'd need to think about getting.

@ELW85 ah that's so nice to hear - a weekend away with the OH can make anything better!

@Fivebyfive2 I think I feel similar things but then I start convincing myself it's not really there 🙈 glad your scan went well today and congratulations on a boy!! I'm so excited to find out!

@MrsEG I really hope so! I'm actually quite desperate for it to make an appearance! I'm hoping one day soon I'll just wake up and boom - bump! yours looks lovely and neat! People at work keep asking me where mine is 😭

Went shopping today and didn't take a coat, it was bloody cold and I swear my newly giant nips got so hard it was actually hurting me as they rubbed on my bra! Not a problem I ever really expected to be having

@purplefig oh look at that bump! It might well be bloat, but hey, there's a baby in there too! I had a bump from about 11 weeks, but I properly popped at about 18. Everyone's different and baby will grow as they like!

@ELW85 ooh glad you enjoyed it!! Xx

Aww @purplefig check you out!! Glad you enjoyed your evening xx

I've spent the day napping and then bawling my eyes out at DH because of how nauseous I felt... so he dropped me at MILs and bought me a McDonalds and wow, it's never tasted so good 😂😂 back in bed now breathing through the stupid nausea again ☹️ Ready to try and tackle my first roast dinner pregnant tomorrow! Fully prewarned MIL that I'll be eating nothing but Yorkshire's and gravy, the thought of veg/meat makes me want to hurl 😩

Morning all! How is everyone today? @MrsEG are you feeling a bit less anxious today? As others have said it's totally normal to feel worried throughout pregnancy and all the more so given what you've been through.

@LokiCat I've just modified what I've been doing so I've been going less often, not doing high impact classes and stopping anything that I wasn't sure of or feels a bit weird. I've been for a couple of runs that have made my stomach muscles start twinging so I've stopped them but found things like lunges, squats, step ups etc are fine. I sometimes do have a bit of a voice in the back of my head which makes me worry whether exercise is ok but I just have to remind myself the medical profession say it's ok so they probably know best!

@purplefig mums always think they know best don't they! My mum was basically saying yesterday she didn't know why I needed a pregnancy pillow and that I needed to relax about sleeping on my back and not get so "agitated" about things. 🙄 I think that looks like a little bump to me and 14 weeks isn't too early to have a little rounded tummy.

@TrashKitten10 oh god that sounds so gross!! I agree with you on the over washing front! Would you say the CCN people are more thorough on that front then? Maybe that's the one I'll look at. Talk away about washing nappies!!

Morning all!!

Jurassic park in the park was awesome, but cold! Glad we took the blankets 😀 We're off to Brum today as dhvsaid he needs to do some shopping; this is like a yearly occurrence as he haaaaates clothes shopping 😂 Wish me luck!

Loving all the bump pics!

@MrsEG, hope you feel better today. Don't beat yourself up for having an anxious /down day it happens and is 100% understandable! Sending my love 💜

@Bettythecat, I experimented with pillows and found a way of preventing me from sleeping flat on my back by putting a normal pillow under the pregnancy pillow on one side! Dh finds it hilarious, calling it my Fort 😂

@cupcakesandglitter, good luck with your Sunday dinner!! I'm going to a specific pub today that does this ham hock type thing with this amaaaazing mash that has cabbage and spring onions in it, with a creamy parsley sauce... It's the first thing I said when dh mentioned Brum!

Enjoy your Sunday ladies!! Xxx

@purplefig @Fivebyfive2** yes, we're doing the positive birth company ones. Very interesting so far, DP is really into them too, which is great.

@Delilah7 He's such a cutie! 😍

@Fivebyfive2 congratulations on finding out it's a boy! 💙 By the way, Morrison's had some really cute boy clothes in when I was in there yesterday 😁

@LokiCat that was quick! Took ages to get a date here.

@MrsEG sorry you were so anxious yesterday, hope today is better. Your bump is lovely too!

@purplefig cute bump too!

@cupcakesandglitter During parts of my first trimester I think McDonalds was one of the few things I could face eating-really weird how beige foods seemed to be all I could face!

Yesterday we started washing the baby's clothes, popped into one of the local towns for a stroll too, otherwise not much.
Today we've got a BBQ-MIL might be visiting too, not sure yet.
@Fivebyfive2 enjoy Brum!

@LokiCat @MrsR16 @Bettythecat @Fivebyfive2 @BostonFern Thank you lovely ladies. Yep I’m feeling much better today, staying the hell away from Google haha. I have dropped my consultant a quick email (hopefully she won’t think I’m insane) but even in writing it I felt better.

@Tropicana1 I’m sure you’ll pop soon! My sister didn’t get a bump til 21 weeks, before that she just felt a bit ‘podgy’. And she had a big baby too!

@purplefig Glad you had a fab night!

@cupcakesandglitter McDonalds saved me on many occasions haha, literally just a big bag of their chips! I must have had more McDonalds the last 3 months than I have in the past 3 years!

@Fivebyfive2 Enjoy the clothes shopping, and your lunch - sounds divine!

@BostonFern enjoy your BBQ! Weather has perked up a bit here too!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday! I had an actual lie in today, can’t remember the last time - I did wake up once at 4 for a wee but that was it. I’m 13 weeks today exactly - feels weird I don’t have another scan now for like 3-4 weeks! Although I did see this on my app today - I’m not sure what ‘twin wrestling’ is going to feel like but I can’t wait for it to happen haha!

Morning all :)

@Tropicana1 thanks lovely!

@Bettythecat thanks for the tips. It's great that you've managed to continue and know when to slow down for your own body. I think I'll take it easy for the next few weeks and maybe speak to midwife before slowly trying to get back into the gym!

@cupcakesandglitter A McDonald's sounds great right about now. Good luck with Sunday dinner - I hope you manage some food!

@Fivebyfive2 oh wow Jurassic Park in the park sounds brilliant. I've seen it so many times, but will jump at something like that!
Hope shopping goes well today. It's so stressful when DH goes shopping as well - he hates it and gets easily frustrated!

@BostonFern yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised! Enjoy the BBQ Grin

@MrsEG glad you're feeling better today. A Sunday lie in, especially during miserable weather is the best!
Haha twin wrestling, wow! Does that mean you'll start feeling them soon?? How exciting!!

We've got a family lunch today, which I'm very excited about as my aunt's cooking is amazing. So really hoping that food aversions don't start today 😂
Has anyone experienced sharp shooting pains sort of in the middle of their breasts? I don't know if it's something to be concerned about or normal.. it's making me a bit breathless and slightly nauseous. 🤔

@ELW85, aaahh that's a fab scan picture! So glad all is OK 🙂

We had a great day but my god, I was so knackered I've just had a 2 hour 'nap'!! We went all over Brum, dh got all the bits he wanted. We got a 'first time parent' baby info book from Waterstones, by Lucy Atkins. Looks pretty good, nice and straightforward and should be a good starting point. I was hoping to get 'skin to skin' but they didn't have it, may add it to the amazon wish list!

We went to The Pub, but... My beloved ham hock dish is no longer on the menu ☹️ Cue sadness!! But I had a roast lamb dinner, so not all bad. Then we had cake at selfridges 😋

Ladies... Does anyone know of any shops that does maternity clothes In The Shop?! I know places do online, but I'd really like to just try crap on then and there, rather than order it and need to return it?!

Anyway, hope everyone has a nice and relaxing Sunday evening xxx
