Sweep & Effacement Questions

Good Afternoon!
I am 40+1 and I have just had my first stretch and sweep. There was a bit of bloody mucus on her glove, and I feel a bit of cramping in my stomach, but it might just be because it was only within the past hour. The midwife said I was fully effaced, but only 1cm dilated. I’ve had loose bowel movements for over a week, lost my mucus plug yesterday and threw up on Sunday night and this morning. Do these sound like good signs? Does effacement tell you anything about how far away labour is? We’re so desperate to meet our little girl now! Please let me know any of your experiences after a sweep.

It tells you nothing - your cervix is not a crystal ball. Some people can be quite dilated and/or effaced for weeks, for others it doesn’t happen until labour has started
