Bleeding at 7 weeks

Hi All,

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and booked in for an early scan tomorrow as I have had had 3 previous miscarriages.

For the past few days I've had brown spotting. I wasn't too concerned, however today I had red blood when I wiped. It lasted for a few wipes and now appears to have gone back to brown spotting.

I am absolutely petrified and have contacted the midwife who says if it gets worse or painful to go in to a&e, otherwise to go to the appointment tomorrow as planned.

Has anyone got any advice or stories similar to this? I'm really expecting the worst of I'm honest.

Thanks

I had bleeding at 6+6 which I noticed when I wiped. But the bleeding stopped by the time I peed again and have had brown spotting since. I rang EPU and they got me in for a scan and I saw a happy little blob with a heartbeat. I’ve had 2 MCs this year so I understand the sheer terror, but it’s not over until it’s over. If it’s stopped (red bleeding) and your not in pain then it could still be a positive outcome - it was for me this time. Xx

Thank you so much for your reply!
That gives me a bit of hope that it might be ok. The bleeding appears to have stopped for now and no pain as of yet.

I'm petrified after the previous miscarriages and can't bare to go through all that again.

Glad to hear your story which gives me some hope xx

I had a big bleed and painful cramps when last week when I was 8 weeks, had a scan a few days later and everything was fine, baby had grown and heart was beating fast.

My midwife has said that spotting around 6-7 is normal as the baby implants in the womb around that time.

Good luck though. I know any bleeding is scary

Hope everything is ok OP. How did your scan go ?

I didn’t have any bleeding at all with DD1 but with DD2 had bleeding- and bright, red, painful bleeding- from weeks 5 to 14, when it just stopped. So there can definitely be some quite scary bleeding and it all be fine.

Hi,

Appointment is at 14:00, so going there shortly! Absolutely cr*pping my pants.

Haven't had any further red bleeding, only a little bit of brown spotting, but absolutely petrified. Will let you know how it goes.

All was well and they could see a heartbeat! They think 7 weeks today. So happy (but also still petrified).

They said brown blood wasn't anything to worry about, and only to worry with red if you need to wear a pad with it.

Hopefully no more bleeding now!

Thanks everyone
