Cervical ectropion and second trimester bleeding

19 weeks with second baby - I’ve been in hospital the past two evenings with bleeding and have been diagnosed with a cervical ectropion/erosion which seems to be where the bleeding is coming from. Baby is fine, HB strong and moving around but I am massively stressed out and worried. I’ve been told to go back every time there’s a new bleed, that it poses no risk to baby as it’s from the outside of my cervix but after 2.5 years and IVF to even achieve this pregnancy, I am terrified every time I go to the toilet.

Has anyone had experience of this?

I'm 8 weeks and was told I had one when spotting started at 5.5 weeks.

Had three previous IVF miscarriages (this is my first natural pregnancy) so was TERRIFIED but baby had a hb last week and I've never cried so much from relief.

Had one day of light red bleeding at 6 weeks but it's been off and on brown to pinkish ever since. Things that make it worse seem to be sex (now on a ban), straining for loo and walking too fast. It's utterly terrifying but I just keep telling myself it's my cervix and not the baby. Easier said than done, I know.

Are you on drugs from the IVF? I'm on loads of progesterone and Clexane which apparently can add to the bleed.

I'm currently 9w+3 with my first pregnancy, naturally and not IVF so not sure if this relates (sorry if not) - I have been bleeding since I got my BFP on and off. It was for 2 weeks straight, every time I went to the toilet between 6-8w pregnant. I had an early pregnancy scan last week and like previous poster, I was SO thankful when I seen the heartbeat and that things were progressing normally. I was also told I have erosion on my cervix, and she even pointed out all the white speckles which was blood in the cervix. I also have a cyst on my cervix which is causing the bleeding as well.

She didn't say when and if this would stop, she said it could be that this happens to me throughout my whole pregnancy or that it may clear up. Every time I go to the toilet now I dread it, as even though I've had the confirmation it's in my cervix and baby is fine, I still worry and am anxious. I hope everything goes smooth with the rest of your pregnancy OP and that the bleeding eases off

Hi OP, i was told i have cervix erosion also. Im currently 29 weeks but at 26 weeks i had spotting. I have a low lying placenta so was told to go in immediately if any signs of bleeds atall. This is when they discovered erosion of cervix. They reckon baban is great and the erosion may be the cause of spotting. Just told me to go home and relax and only go back in if bleed gets worse or bad pains in back. It all seems to be clearing up now tho thankfully. I understand ur worry and hope that everything will go well for u , im sure it will 😘
