28 weeks pregnant and a little worried about this discharge

I’ve been having some brown tinged discharge yesterday and have had more of the same this evening. It’s getting more pronounced and the colour is more “vibrant” for want of a better word. I’m a little concerned it’s a show or my mucus plug but baby is moving fine with no contractions and I have a routine scan tomorrow anyway so don’t want to create a drama if there’s no need. I’m 28 +2

Is the consistency like a plug? Jelly like?

@Smeb123 Iv been told you can use your plug and it grows back, not sure how much truth there is in that but unless its red blood I would just mention it tomorrow to a midwife! X

Sounds like a mucus plug, which I had assumed only came out when you went into labour, but I actually lost mine/some of mine twice. Probably as early as 28 weeks if not before. And I had DS at 41 weeks. Plus lost more plug on the day. I read somewhere that it regenerates. However watch out for any other signs of labour (I believe it means your cervix is opening). Mine was clear but I'm pretty sure brown is one of the colours you shouldn't worry about. I think green was the worrying colour.
