12 week scan - are fetal heart rate and length any clue as to sex?

I had my nuchal scan a few days ago and am comparing the results with those for ds. This time the heart rate is much slower and the fetal length is shorter. Does this mean it is a girl this time, or am I reading too much into things?

the heartrate in the first trimester is different to how it is the rest of the pregnancy anyway

there is some old wives tales about the hearbeat which is supposed to determine the sex

Yes, I think ds disproved the fetal heart rate theory (over 140 is thought to be a girl, and he was always over 170).

not all nhs hospitals will tell u the gender - too scared of getting sued if they are inaccurate!!

thelady · 03/08/2007 21:48

Fetal heart rate definitely has nothing to do with gender. Sorry!
