Pram sheets?

My mil has made a passing comment about whether I am using pram sheets. I had no idea this was even a thing! Do you/ will you use pram sheets? The base of the carry cot part is removable and it can be used for baby to sleep in over night but we hadn’t intended to use it for that so I’m not sure I will even need them. Thoughts please?

I've never used pram sheets . And my child's fine 😂

EscapeTheOrdinary · 11/08/2019 17:32

I can’t see the reason for having them at all! She really caught me off guard so instead of asking why I just looked confused and said I’m not sure Confused

No I don't see the point in them either . I suppose it's a personal choice

We put a sheet in our carrycot as the material of the mattress wasn’t overly soft.. plus, very handy when they inevitably sick or poo on it, just whip it off and into the wash rather than trying to scrub the mattress bit!

I just used the smallest fitted sheet I could find.. the same size I used in my snuzpod. I didn’t particularly buy extra sheets, I just had 4x and rotated them around pram & snuz as needed!

StinkySaurus · 11/08/2019 17:38

I used them during the day. They were helpful as in the early months, babies can be randomly sick ( milky sick) and have leaky nappies so it was easy to wash and change! I didn’t change them if they weren’t dirty though, so you don’t need loads, just for the occasional milky sick or leaky nappy.

Simonfromharlow · 11/08/2019 17:39

I used to use a Moses basket sheet. My babies were quite sicky so it kept the peak mattress clean!

CalamityJune · 11/08/2019 17:39

I didn't. I used to put a spare blanket under him in case of vomit but i wouldnt have wasted money on a fitted sheet

DianaBlythe · 11/08/2019 17:43

I just have cheap modes basket sheets - few quid off Amazon. Just slightly easier to fling in the wash in case of vomit/leaky nappy. I think the cover is technically removable but a bit more faffy and then puts it out of action if you’ve only got one.

Ratbagratty · 11/08/2019 17:44

I used Moses basket fitted sheets, sheet and a muslin cloth as I had very sicky babies! Could just remove a layer and sort it out when convenient!

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 11/08/2019 17:44

I did but it was in case dd was sick in her pram so it was easy just to remove and wash it?

merlotqueen · 11/08/2019 17:45

Just use a pillowslip!

Princesspickle777 · 11/08/2019 17:50

I used a Moses basket sheet on the mattress of carry cot part of the pram so yes I suppose I did use a ‘pram sheet’. The mattress was foam so wouldn’t have been soft against my DD’s skin on it’s own.

Princesspickle777 · 11/08/2019 17:52

It also helped with leaky nappies and the times when she was sick everywhere due to reflux.

elliejjtiny · 11/08/2019 17:52

I used pillowcases as sheets in the pram and Moses basket.

georgialondon · 11/08/2019 17:54

I used them. Got them from John Lewis. It kept the bassinet of my bugaboo as new and I sold it on eBay (just the bassinet part) for almost what I paid for it.

Heyha · 11/08/2019 18:07

Yep- baby sleeps in there for day naps so has mattress protector and a sheet. We've had enough nappy explosions and regurgitations to make them well worth their small (relative to the cost of the carrycot) cost.

PaddyF0dder · 11/08/2019 18:09

We’d just use Moses basket sheets.

NuffingChora · 11/08/2019 18:09

Yep both mattress protector and a sheet here too. You won’t regret it after the first inevitable mega-vomit/nappy explosion...

Baboutheocelot · 11/08/2019 18:12

I used Moses basket sheets, both my babies were very sicky. I got mine from b&m so not very expensive.

Hmmmbop · 11/08/2019 18:13

I used a Moses basket sheet for when baby was sick. Easier to clean than the mattress and meant baby wasn't lying in wet.

EscapeTheOrdinary · 11/08/2019 18:15

Thank you! I will look into options now!

I did but you can use anything really - it's just to have a lining between the baby and the base in case of wee, poo or sick. They don't have to be 'special' sheets, you can fold round a normal sheet or just use a muslin I suppose.

Fatted · 11/08/2019 18:16

Well my eldest detested the moses basket.

Megan2018 · 11/08/2019 18:19

I have moses basket sheets and a waterproof mattress cover for mine. Only cheap and cheerful supermarket sheets but should protect from poo/vomit etc.
We want to sell our pram on afterwards (it was expensive and we are only having 1) so want to protect it as much as possible.

LoisLittsLover · 11/08/2019 18:25

I used sheets or a muslin wrapped round the mattress in case of sick
