I am 6 weeks pregnant in accordance of 3 very dark pregnancy tests (the control window is way lighter than the test window every time). I am either bloating a lot or farther along than I think I am. I have always been small and skinny (hit 100lbs after graduating high school never having a stomach to me) and I am 21 now. My last period lasted 4 days and was lighter than my normal period and the blood (tmi) was really dark like brown. That period was really late and was a 50 day cycle.. what do the moms think? I dont have a ultrasound scheduled for another 4 weeks.

The "bloating" is consistent and not going away at any point in the day and this is my first child.

I bloated in the first few weeks... it's normal

Kinsters · 11/08/2019 03:03

Yeah I had a little belly really early as well so it could definitely be normal. I couldn't do my jeans up anymore by 8 weeks!

For me I think it was because I've got a very short torso and also according to my Dr am "skinny fat" so I look skinny but there's fat in my abdomen and as soon as things started shifting around even a little bit there was nowhere for it to go.

If you're not sure though could you book a dating/early scan to confirm and make sure you get your 12 week scan at the right time? Not sure if the NHS can do that or whether you'd have to pay privately.

Alicewond · 11/08/2019 03:11

It may be bloating, but from that pic you are sticking your tummy out with an arched back. Accept what the pregnancy tests say until you have a scan

Jemima232 · 11/08/2019 03:14

I assure you that I looked 24 weeks pregnant when I was only 6 - 8 weeks.

You hardly look pregnant at all.

Bloating is entirely normal. I looked more pregnant in the early weeks than I did at 20 weeks. I had a fake bump, then no bump, then real bump.

boosterrooster · 11/08/2019 06:11

Yep, the bloating is real! I had this, I looked a good 3 months Pregnant at 6 weeks

ihaveplayedasneakytrick · 11/08/2019 06:26

Hmm, bloating is real, but (imo) you do look big for a naturally slim person on her first pregnancy.

When you say you're 6 weeks pregnant 'in accordance with' pregnancy tests, what do you mean? Did you take those ones that tell you how far along you are? Or are you going from the date of your last period?

You describe a weird, light 'period' after a long cycle...are you thinking that could in fact have been an implantation bleed / early pregnancy spotting? Do you normally have a very long cycle? What was the first date of the period before that?

Ultimately, if you're a few weeks further on than you've been thinking, it will be totally fine. You'll find out on your scan day, and you can recalibrate! Just keep taking your vitamins, not drinking etc. x

barnyb · 11/08/2019 08:03

I'm a size 8 and I had a massive bloat on from 5 weeks to 9 weeks and now it's just tiny pregnancy belly

Abi58 · 11/08/2019 08:15

I bloated from before I found out and still am at 10 weeks
If your last period was 50 days ago is that what you're going off to say 6 weeks or do you know when you ovulated?

RealMermaid · 11/08/2019 12:40

You look just like I did at the same time - I was worried too that I was further along than expected ( or that it was twins!) but no, everything was fine and the dates were correct. I think it was a combo of bloating and being naturally slim so there was just nowhere for the bloat + baby to hide! I'm now 16 weeks and have a bump but much more in line with other people I've seen at the same stage :)

Teddybear45 · 11/08/2019 14:18

I was permanently bloated from 4-12 weeks and was bigger than I am now at 23 weeks. Drink water, move more, and make sure you take fybogel or lactulose if you’re constipated.

Gillseybear · 11/08/2019 14:21

I am only around 4 to 5 weeks and I am booting a lot. Already looks like I have a bit of a belly. Although I am a bigger lady. Am noticing it in my clothing though

LolaSmiles · 11/08/2019 14:23

I looked around 3 months pregnant by 7 weeks and didn't fit my jeans. It was all bloat.
