What was the wait time between the 2 tests saying 1-2 weeks? When was your period due?

The tests GP’s use are usually around 10-25mIU/ml hCG sensitivity (similar to most non digital pregnancy tests) whereas digital tests are 25-50mIU/ml sensitivity so you need more hormone present to come up positive. The fact you had to drink loads to be able to pee at the surgery means you probably diluted the urine so much the hormone wasn’t detectable.

The Clearblue digital tests work on a range of hormones to determine the ‘weeks’ bit of the test and, depending on how diluted your wee is, can affect the result - this is one reason why all hpt’s recommend you test with fmu, so the hormone has had time to build up in your urine. Also, 1-2 on a digital test equals 3-4 weeks since previous period as the digital tests calculate from approximate date of conception not last period which is the date the GP/midwife would use until your dating scan around 12 weeks.

It’s difficult to know from your post how long it was between your digital tests that both said 1-2 weeks but, unless they were within a week or so of each other, you would have expected the number of weeks to increase.

I hope you soon get the answers you want and can put your mind at ease.
