First time posting on something like this so forgive me if ive posted in the wrong place or anything ive not much clue as to how to navigate this site yet..
Any hello thanks for reading an im just looking for advice similar stories ect to help put my mind to rest really.. Im currently 13 weeks today with my 4th pregnancy (2 beautiful boysand a miscarriage) this pregnancy was a massive surprise as after a broken condom an the morning after pill didnt work (someone up there must think i needed blessing with another child tho that was never in my plans at all) anyway im gettin off topic, i had early bleeding at 6 weeks an had an early scan all was fine heartbeat there and strong lasted just over a week on and off then stopped, ive been lucky with other pregnancy symptoms as ive not had many until 2 weeks ago when i started with all day morning sickness and pretty bad headaches, i went for my dating scan yesterday all was good and healthy with baby and was very excited thinking of ways to now tell my other two kids theres gonna bea new addition to the family when ive today again suddenly had a gush of bright red blood with 4/5 clots the size of about £1 coins in.. Its seems to have calmed down again now only there when i wipe and im in no pain apart from a headache ive had all day, i called the hospital they toldme as it has stopped to stay home an just wait to see what happens (i know theres not much they can do) is it possible that after everything was fine and healthy yesterday that im now today goin to miscarry?? Im not sure how fast these things can happen an change.. Any advice would be great Smile

I am sorry I dont have any advice but didnt want to read and run

I hope everything is ok 💕

Hi OP, could you have placenta praevia? I had this in my last 2 pregnancies and with one of them I was in and out.of hospital with massive bleeds and eventually put on bed rest for 3 months, but baby was fine. Go and nag the hospital as many times as you need to for your own peace of mind. I wish you a happy rest of pregnancy xx

LeanneMFord · 10/08/2019 23:32

I literally had the exact same thing had my scan on the Monday everything fine other than a low lying anterior placenta on the Friday I had a massive bleed went to a and e and flooded there floor with blood. They kept me in over night and everything with baby was fine. Put on strict bed rest. 1 week later had another bleed with a big clot then 3 days later another huge bleed with a massive clot. So went back into hospital for 4 days baby was still fine but they could see a big area of bleed on a scan and a blood clot sitting in my cervix. I'm now 18 weeks and I'm still bleeding a bit on wiping and still on strict rest. Only advice I can give is think positive otherwise you will get yourself in a horrible headspace. Contact your early pregnancy unit and speak to them. Mine were amazing and understood how scared an upset I was.

Thank you all, ive looked online at what placenta previa is, maybe that is a possibility, ive not had it with the other pregnancies (knowingly anyway) but with my second from reading up i did have some of the symptoms like contraction pains from 20 weeks but no bleeding he was also born 5 weeks early.. The scan lady didnt say anything on Friday about if my placenta being low, but i was in there a while because baby just wouldnt stay still for the measurements (she seemed to be gettin abit frustrated in the end).. Im still bleeding when i wipe an trying to be positive, until i can speak to my midwife tomorrow (early pregnancy unit will only deal with doctor referrals an midwife only available mon to fri 9-5)

Thinking about you, keep us updated, I know how scary it is. I lost a baby too in 2010 so I know what it feels like. Im sure everything will be fine, let us know how you get on, massive hugs x

CrazylazyJane · 11/08/2019 19:42

No real advice but didn't want to read and run. There's no telling what's happened until you can see a midwife or someone from the EPU.

However, I understand the terror of thinking you may be miscarrying, having already suffered one. I hope the bleeding eases up. Keep us posted x

fancytiles · 11/08/2019 22:22

I would go to a&e, I had a big bleed at 14 weeks but all was ok. Fingers crossed for you x

Dethmari · 12/08/2019 15:25

Hi all just a update.. Called the midwife this morning its a answer machine service so i left a message im still waiting on a callback should be within 24 hours, in the meantime ive called an spoke to my doctor who had me go in to see her she checked my blood pressure an heart rate an then said theres nothing she can do its just a wait and see situation, she said she cant refer me to epu again as now the midwife has to do it and because i hadmy dating scan on friday there not likely to scan an check me again an they also cant listen in with a doppler because im not yet 16 weeks.. So im kinda feeling like im getting nowhere, an they expect me to just walk round for the next few weeks not knowing if everything is ok or not.. Hopefully i hear from the midwife tomorrow with better news

Oh @Dethmari that's rubbish and seems very harsh.

Let's hope the midwife gets back to you ASAP and refers you straight to the EPU. Surely once at the EPU they can scan you and check baby's heartbeat. I really don't think it's acceptable to say "well your baby was fine last week, so we're not scanning you again". Good luck.

LeanneMFord · 12/08/2019 19:49

@Dethmari that's rubbish since my first bleed I've been to the epu at least 6 times and every time they have scanned me. X

Bellydancerbynight · 12/08/2019 20:48

I'm so sorry they are leaving you like this, I'm sure you should be able to request a scan for your peace of mind? Thinking of you! Xx

Dethmari · 15/08/2019 16:23

Just another quick update.. Midwife called me tuesday morning said as ive been losing clots i should really be scaned again so she was phoning threw to the epu an said she would get them to contact me later that day.. Im still waiting an have heard nothing from them so have just called threw myself to find out whats going on and its yet another 24 hour call back service 😤🙈.. This whole thing is actually making me so grateful that my other 2 pregnancies seemed like such a breeze the whole way threw compared to this one so far and im on 13 weeks i hope this isn't a sign of how the whole thing will go

On flippin' 'eck! They're really giving you the run around Angry

I hope you get your scan tomorrow x

Dethmari · 16/08/2019 22:48

Finally got a call from the epu late this afternoon, the lady i spoke to wanted to know what my message was about as they hadnt had any referral info from my midwife at all about it, i explained to the woman what had been happening all week just trying to get someone to check me over an she was lovely and understanding and has given me an appointment for a scan to check on baby on monday morning even tho they arent supposed to without midwife or doctor referral.. Im so glad im finally going to get checked

Dethmari · 16/08/2019 22:59

I probably also should add that im not at all happy with how my midwife has been threw all this takin days to get back to me then not even sending in the referral when she said i needed one, i will be contacting her team and will be getting myself moved to somebody else, ive had 2 interactions with her an both times she couldnt seem any less unbothered an disinterested in her job, the first time i met her i got the impression she couldnt be bothered in dealing with my booking appointment, told me my dates where wrong, then put them at 4 weeks behind what my first epu scan said i was so i already jad to chase up making sure i got my 12 week scan and tests in time myself, and now this whole situation i dont feel like if there was a serious problem she would be any help at all

I hope everything turns out okay xx

fancytiles · 19/08/2019 10:01

I would just go and pay for a private scan rather than waiting for these cowboys to book you one on the nhs. You can get same day appointments and they are a lot more efficient. I don't know where you are based but I go to the birth company in London xxx

LeanneMFord · 20/08/2019 08:10

How did you get on? X

CrazylazyJane · 22/08/2019 19:36

I hope things went well at the EPU @Dethmari x

Dethmari · 04/03/2020 10:20
