Three weeks pregnant and bleeding

I'm three weeks and five days pregnant. I've been bleeding for six days now. I went to GP and referred me to scan to confirm if it's in or outside womb. I spoke to nurse on phone and they said we wouldn't be able to tell at this stage. I asked how do I know if it's a miscarriage or not. She said take another pregnancy test on Monday and if it's a faint line (fainter than last test) then probably not pregnant, but only time can tell if it's a miscarriage or not. She said call again on Monday. Did any of you bleed (pink/brown) this early on in pregnant and what happened? Should have insisted on scan at three weeks ? Nurse said they can't tell anything at three weeks. Appreciate any comments. Ps I already have two children and no bleeding before

@Casander Did you have bleeding or just spotting? I have just assumed I have miscarried and happily drank Prosecco with friends this evening!

It started as spotting and then got heavier, but not as heavy as a period. They couldn't explain why but DS was born at 39 weeks perfectly fine.

I know they aren't a totally accurate guide but I'd be tempted to test with a clear blue digital and then again in a few days and see if the number of weeks go up.

@Casander Thanks for replying. That’s a good idea. I had planned to just do a standard test on Tuesday (a week from when started spotting). My bleeding has been like a normal period except one day was v heavy compared to my normal period so I feel quite sure I’m no longer pregnant.
