15 week potty shot??

My friend had a 15 weeks private gender scan. They said Boy 😀. But she’s confused over the whole scan picture as it just doesn’t seem like any of boy potty shots we have seen. I know it seems pretty obvious to everyone else it’s a boy, she has never seen a scan that shows so much detail like this. Someone has told her it could possibly be a swollen labia but not convinced it is. What’s your opinion please? As she really wants to start buying baby things. Thank you

All the private scan places have been on have offered gender scans from 16 weeks only.

It may be inaccurate if shes less than 16 weeks. Did she have the blood test one to confirm or just a scan?

My gender pic at 16+2 isn't clear (to me!) either but gender was confirmed again the other week at 20+2 so I am certain my baby is a boy. It's probably because the scan was an early one.

Mine was also a very obvious boy at 16 weeks. (Has his legs crossed over)

It’s usually very obvious to an experienced NHs sonographer if it’s a boy. They will know the difference between a girl with a swollen labia and a penis - but many private sonographers don’t have the same standard of training and could get confused. Strongly suggest your friend waits for the 20 week scan or does an NIPT before doing a gender reveal lol

I wouldn’t rely on a scan done at 15 weeks I don’t think.

This is my 16 week girl scan - confirmed by NHS sonographer at 20 weeks with no hesitation. I know you've asked for boy shots but maybe this will help you distinguish between the two more clearly?

Likely a boy but it wouldn’t put money on it. It can be hard to tell one way or another when people have miscarriages/TOPs at that gestation, let alone on a grainy scan.
