Consultant appointment before 20week scam???

I am 18 weeks with my third baby. I have previously had two c sections. I have a consultant appointment a few days before my 20 weeks scan. I’ve got a big age gap (11yrs!!) so I know things have changed but I’m unsure what this appointment is for??? My midwife seems to think it’s to discuss previous births but this happened around 34 weeks with my second and section date booked!
I’m hoping they will just book this section date there and then but I highly doubt it! Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

I had consultant before my 20
Week scan . Also on my 3rd baby and 2 previous c sections.
Was told then that they won’t book section date till my 36 week appointment, just basically said your having a 3rd section and that was it.
I’m also high risk due to previous blood clot so mine was to make sure I started injecting daily again from 28 weeks so back on them now.

Thanks @kelly14! Urgh all the trek to the hospital for that lol!! Do they listen to the heartbeat or anything? I know I’ve been told to take a urine sample xx

I'm under consultant care, I should have had a cervical stitch before 24 weeks but the midwives forgot to do my referral. She is lovely, I have regular growth scans and she talks me through everything. It will really depend on why u were referred. High risk, previous small babies, previous c section, cervical treatments etc. U may see the consultant often or rarely but they wouldn't ask u to go for no reason. I know it's a pain with all the appointments but at least u know ur baby is being well looked after x

Nope didn’t listen to heartbeat or anything like that at mine!
Saw a midwife for literally minutes before seeing the consultant and she weighed me and tested urine and think blood pressure and that was it.
Very disappointing lol

@xsamix86i get this but it’s the fact I have the appointment then 4 days later my scan 🤣 it’s a shame it couldn’t have been on the same day! To save travelling etc. Especially if it’s just to do what @kelly14 said!

No previous problems. I’ve had 2 previous straightforward sections. Xx

As far as I was aware, everyone sees the consultant about that time, they then decide if you are staying under the consultant or moved over to just midwife care.
I was moved to the community midwife but as the consultant wanted growth scans due to my thyroid issues, I'm seeing the consultant after my growth scans.
