Bleeding in early pregnancy

Hi all, i'm a mam of a 4 year old boy, however recently had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I found out i was pregnant again recently but started bleeding again. I went for a private scan today because the hospital couldn't offer a scan for 5 days and the not knowing would kill me. I went for the scan tonight thinking history was repeating itself but it was good news. I seen my tiny little dot had a strong heart beat. I think the reason i'm writing this post is to hopefully reassure people going through a simular situation. Keep positive x

I hope you are ok. I had early bleeding of various shades throughout early pregnancy and all was ok in the end!

LividLaughLove · 05/08/2019 20:28

Really really needed to hear this today. Thanks x

I had a big gush of red blood at 6weeks was convinced it was all over, had a early scan at 7w+3 which showed healthy bubba, currently 22 weeks have had no further bleeding.

I had several bleeds throughout my second pregnancy. All of them were quite a lot.
I had many visits to hospital for then. she's 6 months now snoozing happily in her cot.

Bailey93 · 08/08/2019 11:21

I'm going through this at the moment. 6 weeks and bleeding since Sunday . Got an early scan tomorrow to find out if there's anything going on but I'm convinced it's all over.

FlipKat · 08/08/2019 12:03

I've had two episodes of gushes of bright red bleeding each lasting about 2hrs, one at 5+6 and another at 6+2. I really thought it was all over as they were pretty heavy, but when I got checked they found a nice high HCG level and a normal scan at 6+3, and we saw the heart beating. They cannot see any cause for the bleeding. I'm 6+6 now and still having constant spotting and light bleeding and it is showing no signs of stopping. It is really hard not to get anxious even when we've had reassurance from the clinic, but it is really great to hear stories on here where ladies had bleeding and went on to have healthy pregnancies. Stay positive everyone!

Hi sorry to post here I’m struggling to get a response on my own post. I took a test last Thursday 01/08 which was positive but not dark. I continued taking tests for a few days and they stayed faint not getting any darker. (All using Morrison’s test which seem to have good reviews) I left it a couple days and used 2 cheap eBay tests Tuesday with my FMU which most came out negative so I accepted it was most likely a chemical pregnancy. I repeated a eBay test this morning Thursday 08/08, one week following first positive test which was again positive but still not dark. My period was due 03/08 so 5 days ago. Any advice or similar experiences? I am so confused and anxious, I don’t want to go to the doctors as I know there isn’t much they will do and at the stage I am just waiting to bleed 😩 I haven’t had any cramps etc.

Bailey93 · 08/08/2019 19:04

@Warrior9 Hi lovely, I would maybe buy a clearblue digital test and see what that says if you are able to. They've always seemed accurate for me. X

Warrior9 · 08/08/2019 19:13

@Bailey93 thank you, Iv heard mixed reviews about clear blue so I didn’t want to use one and get inaccurate results, a lot of people have recommended first response but I think I’m gonna hold back testing for a while and see if I experience any cramping/bleeding in the next week. I feel like I’m holding onto false hope 😩

Bailey93 · 08/08/2019 19:27

@Warrior9 it is horrible not knowing, I feel for you. But a line is a line! Did it show straight away?

Warrior9 · 08/08/2019 19:32

@Bailey93 they’re definitely positives I would so Iv done so many tests I’m just worried about a chemical pregnancy with it being faint lines I would of expected nice solid lines by now😢x

Tattybogle89 · 08/08/2019 22:27

@Warrior9
So you have had sure positives? Have missed your period by five days and have had no bleeding? You sure sound pregnant.
First response in the morning! They are the best and showed my pregnancies before I MISSED my period. Go get one!

Warrior9 · 08/08/2019 22:51

@tattybogle89 thank you. Im not in doubt that I am/was pregnant as Iv had atleast 6 positives. I am just worried about the lines not getting darker and the 2 negatives as Iv read a lot about chemical pregnancy’s. I was hoping someone may have had a similar experience 😞

Tattybogle89 · 09/08/2019 00:08

But you are using different brands which will have different sensitivies and the cheap ones aren’t always very acturate. Just buy a first response and give yourself a chance to relax. Hope all goes well for you x

Hi all, just on my way home from another scan and they can't see a heart beat today. I am still only measuring 6 weeks deapite my dates making me 9 weeks and they found a second empty yolk sac which has confused me even more! My bleeding has slowly become worse all week so i think today has just confirmed that it's not ment to be. I asked if it could have been twins and the midwife suggested it may have been. This is my second loss this year, i am lucky i have a 4 year old boy and thinking maybe i should just be content with having the 1 child. I really hope its better news for you all xxxx

Bailey93 · 10/08/2019 12:53

I went for a scan yesterday and it was confirmed it was a miscarriage. Obviously not the right time for me. X
