Hi ladies

After some advice I was on anti depressants before I fell pregnant and stopped when I found out... I have coped well... but I am really struggling these past few weeks. I am almost 34 weeks... but my panic attacks are starting all over again. I've just become so paranoid about my body and just labour etc which is causing them. I've got the option to start taking them again... I just don't know what to do?
Anyone got any advice? Hmm

Hello, when I first found out I was pregnant I was told to stop taking my sertraline but after speaking to the consultant she suggested I carry on taking them as it's the safest anti depressant for pregnant ladies and it's the one the recommend. I've carried on taking it all the way through my pregnancy and feel a lot calmer because of it. I would recommend speaking to your midwife about starting on it again. I take 50mg a day currently.

Thank you for replying so quickly. Xx The midwife is supporting me going back on. I am just concerned as it could be a shock for the baby this far in... to be honest I was on sertraline with my first baby from about 18 weeks pregnant and she is touch wood all okay and nearly 3.
It's such a horrible illness and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I have tried my hardest to not have to be on it, but I do think I've got to a point where I need to take it and i agree with you.

I'm taking 50 mg a day. My midwife was absolutely fine with it and last week I also saw the consultant midwife who said I really should continue taking it and not listen to any doctor who suggested it was an issue as they simply weren't up on the latest research!

Thanks for your reply.... do you think it's a big risk me taking it this far in? That's the only reason I am a bit all over it about it xx
