Hi, I am 33+6 weeks with my first baby and I am at the end of my tether with fainting episodes. I didnt have any fainting episodes before becoming pregnant. It started at 7/8 weeks into the pregnancy, while I was at work. I went to A&E and my blood pressure was on the low side of normal so it was put down to that.
Since then I have continued to have fainting episodes where my tou ge goes numb, my vision gradually gets dark to the point where I cant see and my ears feel like they are under water and then I lose conciousness. It's really scary and it's got to the point where I had to stop working ar 10 weeks pregnant, I no longer go out on my own so I am confined to the house until babys dad comes home from work.
I have underactive thyroid and that's under control and I had a glucose test which came back to confirm I do not have gestational diabetes.
There seems to be no clear pattern to these faints, it happens when in stood up or sat down in many different situations.
My consultant doesn't really know what to do as my blood pressure doesnt drop and my blood sugar doesnt drop when these episodes happen. She was going to refer me to either a cardiologist or neurologist but I dont really fit into any category for symptoms apparently.
Has anyone else experienced this? Its really getting to me, even though baby is growing fine, is really active and there has been no concerns over him, I am worried that it could be having an unknown effect on him.
