Hi, can I please have opinions if anyone else can see a faint line? Been testing the past few days with no line, but today looks like a very very faint line to me. Smile

People regularly post these and I cant see a second line, but for the 1st time I can see one on yours ;) Congratulations x

Sexnotgender · 04/08/2019 16:41

I can see a faint line.

Squashpocket · 04/08/2019 16:42

I can see a line as well. Try a frer if you can.

Thanks for your input guys. I took this test with the first 'pee' of the day this morning, then this afternoon went and purchased a different brand (Clear Blue eary detection) and it gave a result of "not pregnant".

How likely is it that this mornings result was an error? Hmm having a search on Google says it's unlikely to get a 'false positive' but I'm unsure now!

Also, what is the "frer" mentioned above?

I think a frer is a first response early test.tbf with all my pregnancies I've used poundland strips and they have been accurate

codenameduchess · 04/08/2019 19:45

The digital tests need higher concentrations of hcg, if your due test is that faint with fmu you're unlikely to get a positive digital later in the day even if pregnant.

I used the cheap strip tests and got positives from a few days before missed period, but you can always get a first response early result (frer) and use it with fmu.

@csmw @codenameduchess I will definitely be taking another test in the morning. It's about 8 days until my period is actually due so very very early to be testing, but something just felt different. Thank you both!

Don't bother with digitals until after your period is due

virginpinkmartini · 04/08/2019 20:33

Definitely a line there. If you turn up the contrast of the picture and reduce the brightness, it's a bit more apparent.

virginpinkmartini · 04/08/2019 20:34

And yes, its very rare to get a false positive.

cjgreen7 · 04/08/2019 21:06

Is this an Asda freedom test? If so sorry to disappoint you but I had this last week and all other tests have been negative. Read the reviews on the website very upsetting

OhBabyBabyItsAWildWorld · 04/08/2019 21:26

I used the digital one thinking it may be more responsive. Thanks for the picture tip! Sorry to hear about the Asda test disappointment. The test I used this morn was a cheapy one from eBay which gave the positive result and then the Clear Blue early response test this afternoon - which gave the negative result.

@Ohbabybabyitsawildworld Did you retest today?

OhBabyBabyItsAWildWorld · 05/08/2019 16:41

Yes @virginpinkmartini and it came up as negative. Not so much as a hint of blue line. I thought with evap lines or false positives the line is supposedly grey or colourless, whereas the line I had yesterday looked pink to my eyes Hmm

@OhBabyBabyItsAWildWorld honestly, stay away from clear blue. The tests are awful, pink dye is more reliable and the frer (first response early results) will give you the best results. Even the cheap strips with pink dye if you don't want to fork out.

You're also very early if it's still around a week until your period. Personally I'd wait until it's due then do an frer test.

OhBabyBabyItsAWildWorld · 05/08/2019 21:42

@codenameduchess I thought I'd use up the expensive (useless) tests as I purchased a 3-pack. After reading online how unreliable women find Clear Blue, I can't believe how popular they still are! The pink cheapys are coming in the post and if no luck with those then I'll be purchasing the First Response brand!
