38 weeks and head not engaged

First baby here, went to the midwife and she says it's head is still free and that I need to be sitting upright to get it into place (which is impossible because I need to sleep all the time and sitting up is so painful, my whole belly aches and I feel like I've been kicked repeatedly downstairs)
I've amazoned a birth ball in the hopes this might work but I think I've accidentally freaked myself out a bit by googling and read that if the head doesn't engage there's more chance of a section.
Doesn't help she made me feel like I'd done something wrong because I already suck at being pregnant.
Has anyone else been in this position? I know it's common for second babies but there's just scare mongering stuff online about first babies.
One plus is I apparently have strong stomach muscles..

You haven't done anything wrong. My baby's head wasn't engaged by that point, they are all different. Try a bit of bouncing on the ball when you can. I also found going to a warm pool and bobbing up and down helped. It's not like you need to be sitting upright all day and night. It'll be ok Thanks

My first wasn’t engaged then either, loads of walking if you can and the birth ball should help.
