Hi all just after some advice please. Just found out I'm about 4 weeks pregnant which is amazing, but... I only had my baby 5 months ago via c-section. I'm really worried and concerned also scared. Has anyone else been in this situation?
We did want another but not till little one was around 9 months. I know we should have been more careful!

Just after advice please

Didn't want to read and run, but firstly, congratulations!!
I haven't had this experience, so I would suggest speaking to your GP / midwife and they will be able to advise. I think usually after 6 months is what is recommended so you're not too far off :)
Good luck!

Definitely check with your midwife. I was told not to conceive until a year later, I think because of the risk the scar won’t have healed properly and may rupture. But I did have a bigger cut than normal as dd was in an awkward position!

I asked my consultant how long between a c section and next birth and she said a year between actual births particularly as you’re not fully healed until 3 months after so based on that you would be ok.

Thank you all for your comments/advice. Think I will make an appointment with the doctor, suppose they are the ones who will have the best advice

Hello, I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and got pregnant when my daughter was 7 months (via emergency c section). I told my midwife at my booking appointment but she wasn't concerned and I am still a low-risk pregnancy. Congratulations!

GabsandLily · 20/04/2020 09:27

Thank you

I had a c section 5 months ago , I am currently pregnant now im 12 weeks and 3 days . Are there any concerns about the pregnancy because im worried something would happen .

Amichelle84 · 09/08/2021 14:04

We conceived our 2nd baby 6 months after our 1st was born via csection.

I'm now 34 weeks and no issues regarding scar so far.

Hi ladies, have any of you who got pregnant “quickly” after CS had a VBAC? My midwife and doctor said to wait two years if I want a VBAC….

Rainy19 · 26/02/2022 13:58

Hey! How did it went? I think I’m pregnant 5 month since c section, and I’m very worried. Please help.

Rainy19 · 27/02/2022 03:26

Hey! How’s it going? I think im pregnant and my scar is only 5 months, please help .

Jinglebellsoncake · 27/02/2022 07:36

Congratulations!

I was 6 months post cesarean when I found i was pregnant with my second baby.

Health wise, everything went smoothly and the midwife didn't even mention anything about it being too soon etc.

Having 2 together was tough, but definitely doable 😃 Mine are now 4&5 and best friends.

Xx

Wow! Glad I found this thread. My lo is 7 months and I'm super scared that I could be pregnant 😳. Thought it's very dangerous before a year of CS.
Reading all these comments I feel much better ❤

I have always had c-sections due to not being able to give normal birth my first section was perfectly fine afterwards my second I was annemic so didn't go so well my 3rd was the same as my first perfectly was a breeze but it was only 5 months ago my little girl is 5 months old an I'm already 6 weeks pregnant I have been intouch with a midwife as of yet I'm scared what they will say I'm also scared about carrying due to it not being long ago having my 3rd section I just want to see if anyone is or has been in the same situation and for some advice on how it went or is going thank you

Hana12345 · 21/11/2022 23:59

What the age gap (months/years) between your 3 kids? Am in the same boat, i am pregnant with my second. my 1st baby is 6 months old with a c-section. Still waiting to attend my antenatal appointment. Not sure if i have healed properly yet.

Samantha931 · 22/11/2022 17:23

I was 19 when I had my first My oldest is 10years old my middle is 8years old I then had a big age gap and didn't get pregnant for years and now my baby girl I have recently had is 5months old an I have found out I'm pregnant again with my 4 I rang for an appointment with my midwife this morning but I only get a phone call next Monday I explain my situation to the receptionist on how I'm panacking and she wasn't much help really she just said wait till the midwife rings next week which hasnt helped me really I'm scared myself about if I have healed properly I'm used to c sections an the recovery by now it's more of the issue of is it too soon I know it's my own fault as I should of been using something so this didn't happened but I never really thought about it or it too happen so quickly I'm 29 now so I anit getting any younger I do find I'm alot tired through out the days recently but I will be with having a 5 month old aswell I suppose an I find my scar is quiet sore than normal I'm just hoping next week everything is fine fingers crossed

Hana12345 · 22/11/2022 21:16
