Cramping and red bleeding at 6 weeks after FET

I've gone through FET due to hereditary genetic issues and luckily had a positive test first time round. I'm now 6weeks pregnant but last night had bleeding which looked like fresh red blood with cramping no, clots or anything but strong period type cramps. Bleeding just about covered a panty liner and only lasted about 2hours but I've had mild cramps on and off since.
My nausea and sore breast has also subsided today.
Since I'm pregnant after a FET i'm taking oestrogen and progesterone, I don't know if that affects things?
Has anyone experienced this? What was your outcome, I'm going a little stir crazy, is this just the beginning of a miscarriage? My husband says be positive but its hard as he isn't feeling the cramps.
My scan at the special ACU clinic isn't until the 13th August.

I'm going on holiday tomorrow and worried if this is just the beginning.

This sounds very difficult OP. We are just bumping the thread for you in the hope someone who has advice comes along soon.

I didn't want to read and run, I'm sorry but I don't have any answers, I just hope all is okay. Is there a way you could get a private scan beforehand?

I’d go to the early pregnancy assessment unit at your local hospital to get checked out. When I had a FET I didn’t have such symptoms.

Hey OP.

I have had bleeding in all of my pregnancies. Two resulted in babies and two didn't. The MC were both following fertility treatment, one of my babies was IVF.

The hormones for a FET can make you more prone to a bleed. Also more chance of a bleed because the implantation process isn't 'normal' so more likelihood of a SCH.

I think something like 1/3 - 1/2 of bleeds in pregnancy lead to a MC.

Really hoping that as yours seems to have settled for now that it will be ok.

It seems so much crueller when you have already been through so much.

Good luck x

Thanks everyone, really hope its ok. Have an appointment with the early pregnancy unit today.
Things have been ok since just lots of cramping.
Trying to stay positive.

Please keep us posted OP, we are thinking of you

Hi,

FET here too (x 3). Don’t use your progesterone pessaries vaginally, use them rectally instead. I had the same problem as you with my successful pregnancies and changing the approach on that stopped it completely.

I hope the scan helps.

Had the scan and all is well! Grin we even saw the little heart beat. So unbelievably relieved! Nothing to show why there was bleeding or any issues, fingers crossed for no other worries but think it's going to be a long 8months ahead!
Still cramping but hoping that's just my belly growing to make way for everything.
Thanks for the support, will also try the other option for the pesseries.
X

Great news! Good luck Smile

That is fantastic news. I am in a very similar situation - I'm 6+0 weeks pregnant following FET. On progesterone pessaries and oestrogen tablets. Last night had 2 hours of pink red bleeding that soaked pantyliner. No pain but having slight brown spotting going on today. Been in to see my clinic and they've said no to a scan but did take an HCG blood test. I don't know how reassuring that is going to be though! Thinking of going for a private scan on Monday. I really thought it was game over with all the bleeding last night but you story gives me hope! Thank you for posting x

Fantastic news!! X

@FlipKat a scan would put your mind at rest. I hope you can get one and all is well.

I've had more bleeding again today with clots and lots more cramps. It's very unsettling, I was so relieved today that I forgot to ask what it could have been and if it was normal, should I be worried if it happens again.

Will let you know how my 8week scan goes, going to be quite a nervous wait until then.
X
