When I was pg with DD although I could see myself as a Mum with my baby & us as a family I could never envision actually giving birth. It just wouldn't come to me daydreaming or otherwise, I ended up with an emergency C-Section & didn't progress beyond 7 cms & I wondered if this was why I never saw myself 'giving birth'. Anyone have anything similar or opposite?
This time I keep having a 'feeling' that baby will be early which given that I was induced at 10 days over term & resultant section seems unlikely although I suppose it is possible.

I had a feeling that childbirth was going to be painful, and I was spot on!!

Fairly early on I was convinced I would give birth at 35 weeks, and I did. (Spontaneous labour too, not induced or section)

I was convinced about baby being aboy even until the night of my induction. Anyway dd came along, and a few weeks later, I read my pregnancy diary, and at about 35 weeks i had had a dream that I gave birth to a little girl with ginger hair, and I called her poppy.
the first 2 where true, and she was called Lily, which followed the flower theme of poppy, I thought it was wierd

I had two premonitions which came true whilst I was pg with DS1, but neither of them was to do with the pregnancy itself, iyswim.

I'm twelve weeks pregnant and whilst camping over the weekend I was walking to the toilets in my pyjamas when I suddenly thought 'I hope no-one sees any blood on my PJ's'. I thought no more of it until I got back to the tent, felt a bit weird and discovered I was bleeding. Fingers crossed it has stopped and everything is okay. It was strange though!

I had a feeling that both DSs were boys and I was right! I also knew I would go over with both of them and I did.
I am now expecting DC3 but am convinced it is another boy despite the pg being a lot different to the other 2, I am also fairly sure I will go over and it will be a January baby (prob arrive the day DS2 starts school) even though am due Dec 27th. We shall see!

From a very early age I had a sneaking feeling I would grow up to be a Mum of 2 girls and sure enough, that's what I am. when pg with dd2 I was so convinced that my childhood 'prediction' couldn't possibly be true I was sure she was a boy, was v when I found out she was a girl.

ProfYaffle · 02/08/2007 16:35

Like another poster said, I also couldn't visualise giving birth at all and I had c/s with both girls.

I'm fairly certain I'm having a boy - no idea why, just a hunch. DH is also certain I'm having a boy and that I'll be early. At first I was convinced I'd be 10 days late, now I'm thinking I may be a couple of weeks early...

Well we find the flavour out tomorrow so that will be one question answered

Quite a spooky lot arent' we. My Mum also knew the baby's name without being told, we only decided after she was born & it was one we had never mentioned to anyone else. DH phoned my Dad about 6 hours or so after she was born & we'd chosen the feminine form of my Dad's name as it was DH's Dad's middle name too & we thought it fitting. My Dad came off the phone & my Mum said she's named after you isn't she! They didn't know DH's Dad's name had been the same so it wasn't obvious at all.
Fingers crossed I'm right and this one will come early 'cos I'm getting fed up now & I've still 14 weeks to go to EDD. Not too early tho'.
