Essential oils worries

Hi all, I’m a bit worried and wanted to get your thoughts. I’m 15 weeks and I’ve been using a shower gel for the last couple of months. I’ve thought from the beginning I’ve had a lot of cramps and wondered why but didn’t think it could be down to shower gel. I just read the ingredients and it’s got loads of essential oils in, including lavender, clove, rosemary and basil, all of which aren’t recommended. The oils start about a third of the way down the ingredients list so it’s not pure oils at all but I’m now worried that it’s caused some damage. I’ve thrown it away. Can anyone give me any info on using essential oils when they’re in a diluted form in products. Thank you!

What was the body wash?

It’s the Dr Salts recharge + stimulate, with black pepper. Thank you

I dont think you need to worry, the quantities will be so small and the only oil i have heard to avoid is clary sage. Mention it to your midwife at your next appt but really dont fret about it. I think cramping is quite common, especially in 1st trimester when your uterus is expanding.

I think you’ll be fine. If it reassures you at all I had lots of cramping in the first trimester and midwife assured me it was fine. Now almost 22 weeks & everything is looking good
