Here's just a quick survey.
Some people say morning sickness is worse if you're expeting a girl.
Is this true I wonder?
How about we all say what baby we had and if we had morning sickness or not and then in a few days I'll work the percentages out and post them on here- or shall I say in a week or so.
If we all list like this to make it easy for me to do the calsulations:

Dd- Bad morning sickness

Ds 1 and 2 and dd - no morning sickness at all.
Ds3 - slight ocassional nausea for a few weeks which suddenly stopped and a day later I began to bleed. Ds3 survived, but the theory was at the time that I lost an undeveloped twin.
Therefore, my experience says that you feel sicker with twins than with one baby.

dd - hyperemesis throughout pregnancy; hospitalised etc.
pg no2 (I suspect another dd) again hyperemesis and hospitalised. Just as bad. NO MORE!!!

Kittypickle · 19/09/2004 17:47

DD - bad nausea and sickness for 30 weeks
DS - just slightly queasy

Tissy · 19/09/2004 17:48

dd- bad sickness for five months, then the heartburn kicked in

DelGirl · 19/09/2004 17:52

boo hoo. Can't tell you mine yet as I've not had him/her yet. I thought it was worse with girls, well that's what i've heard.

dd1 - absolutely nothing - ate like a horse throughout and put on 4 stone (damn.)

dd2 - terrible nausea from 6-13weeks (or thereabouts) but never actually threw up.

ds1 & ds2 - mild nausea and extreme exhaustion from 6-13 weeks - lay around a lot being useless.

dd2 did have the most hair when she was born, strangely!

smellymelly · 19/09/2004 18:07

Ds - bad
Dd - bad (maybe a little worse coz I had to look after ds!)

Twins (boy and girl)- bad but stopped at 10 weeks!

Work that one out!

80sMum · 19/09/2004 18:20

ds - not too bad, felt nausea but not actually sick, stopped at 12 weeks.
twins - terrible, all day/all night, chucked up almost daily, then suddenly stopped at 18 weeks.
dd - worse than ds, but not as bad as twins, stopped at 12 weeks.

Miaou · 19/09/2004 18:26

dd1 - felt like I would be sick any moment but never was. Felt v. queasy all day until early evening.

dd2 - probably didn't feel any worse but was sick every time I changed dd1's nappies!

Both times sickness lasted until I was 16 weeks.

roisin · 19/09/2004 18:51

3 boys:
1st and 2nd no sickness or nausea at all
3rd - very sick, constantly nauseous 4-19 and 27-40 wks

Thunderbird1 · 19/09/2004 18:52

DS - not sick at all

Juliehafrancis · 19/09/2004 18:52

DD - Extremely bad morning sickness, so bad in fact that I was admitted into hospital!

blueteddy · 19/09/2004 18:58

I had no sickness with either of my boys, but then again neither did my Mum with her 2 girls!

Mirage · 19/09/2004 20:19

I have a dd & had no sickness at all.Was just hungry all the time.I ate so much that I put 4 stone on! Sadly its all gone now.

stupidgirl · 19/09/2004 20:33

Ds - very, very minor nausea for a few weeks
Dd - bad morning sickness for 3 or 4 months. Not much throwing up, but couldn't eat, and lost about a stone in weight in those first few months.

motherinferior · 19/09/2004 20:43

Vile constant nausea for first trimster with dd1 including frequent puking.

Less frequent puking with dd2, unheralded by nausea.

My mum has had two girls and says she 'doesn't believe in morning sickness'.

XenaWP · 19/09/2004 20:49

dd, no ms

JoolsToo · 19/09/2004 20:49

No - I was one of the lucky ones - 3 pregnancies (1 girl, 2 boys) - not one day of sickness or nausea!

yingers74 · 19/09/2004 20:55

dd - severe sickness for about 5 months including spell in hospital (hospital food did not help) and then another 2 months of I imagine what would be 'normal' morning sickness!!!!!

However, I know of people who had girls and were not sick at all

Ghosty · 19/09/2004 21:00

DS ... bad text book morning sickness ... threw up every morning and then fine by lunchtime ... Didn't stop me putting on a ton of weight though ... lasted for 16 weeks
DD ... bad ALL DAY sickness ... but didn't throw up that much ... felt terrible all day every day for 19 weeks.

My mum had 2 of each and her worst morning sickness was with my sister and me ... it was so bad with my sister that she could smoke

Ghosty · 19/09/2004 21:01

Doh .. I meant ... it was sooooo bad with my sister that she couldn't smoke !!!!

coppertop · 19/09/2004 21:03

ds1 - horrible morning sickness. I spent 4 months throwing up at least 3 times a day (usually more).

ds2 - felt queasy for the first 3 months but was only sick once throughout the whole pregnancy.

samwifewithkid · 19/09/2004 21:12

dd - no morning sickness, just had a couple of queasy days

this pregnancy - have had more days of feeling queasy, but not really m/s

linnet · 19/09/2004 21:24

I have 2 dd's and didn't have any morning sickness with either of them.

My mum had a dd(me) and a ds and had no morning sickness with either of us.

My cousin had a dd and a ds and had really bad morning sickness with her dd. But hardly any with her ds.
